Guns, drugs, and fake money found in man’s (stolen) car
Dylon James Dotson, 24, was arrested on July 6 after officers found him unresponsive in a stolen vehicle.
The white Toyota Corolla had rammed into a wooden fence on Christie Way in Clinton, and the vehicle was still running with the headlights on when officers arrived.
Dotson was slumped over in the driver’s side seat with a handgun in his lap. Officers immediately opened the front passenger side door and removed the Kimber Micro 9 from Dotson’s reach. It was loaded with a magazine with the hammer back, but no round was in the chamber.
Officers then reached inside the vehicle from the driver’s side door, according to the incident report, and unbuckled Dotson. At that point, he started to become responsive. As officers removed him from the vehicle, they observed that he was sitting on a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm magazine.
Dotson was cuffed and read his Miranda rights, which he chose to wave. Officers observed that his speech was slurred, his eyes were blood-shot, and he was unsteady on his feet. He told officers he was too intoxicated to remember what he had taken but that it was probably Xanax.
He said that he used to snort pills, but now injects them using a needle.
Officers found a small digital scale commonly used for weighing drugs inside his left pocket along with a large amount of money. They also located a box of ammunition, a small digital scale, needles, and a whole lot of fake money that can be purchased online for training purposes in the trunk.
Dotson refused medical attention and was taken to the Detention Facility.
He has a criminal history dating back to 2016 that includes aggravated robbery, theft of property, drug possession and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
