Eagle Bend Apostolic to give free backpacks

Eagle Bend Apostolic Church of Clinton will give away free backpacks stuffed with school supplies for school-aged students.

To prepare students for the new school year the church will host a Back to School Bash and Great Backpack Giveaway.

At the bash, children and parents will enjoy a time of worship and encouragement featuring a relevant message by the Rev. Samuel Vaughn of Watkinsville, Ga.

The Back to School Bash begins at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, July 29, with the Great Backpack Giveaway and community meal to follow after the service.

Each school-aged child (K-12 grade) will receive a free backpack and supplies (backpacks given while supplies last.)

The child must be present to receive a backpack. Any remaining backpacks and supplies will be donated to Clinton area schools.

This project was created by Assistant Pastor Blake Miller trusting that this effort will boost the confidence of Clinton’s school-aged students.

Miller remarked, “My prayer is that these kids can confidently walk into their new classroom at the beginning of the school year with a brand new backpack and with the knowledge that this church and this town really care about them and are praying for them.

“There are many good, deserving students in our schools who are living in difficult circumstances, and our church wants to make sure that these children have the supplies and support they need to make this school year a success.”

Eagle Bend Apostolic Church aims to principally support Clinton’s students, however, any school-aged child present at the Great Backpack Giveaway is eligible to receive a backpack, regardless of the school they attend.

If you are interesting in donating towards this cause, contact the church by email at eaglebendapostolicchurch@gmail.com.

Backpacks can be purchased for $10 each, but donations of any amount are accepted. All proceeds will go to fund the backpacks.

Eagle Bend Apostolic Church is pastored by the Rev. David Triplett and has been serving Clinton and the surrounding area for over 35 years. The church is located at 1740 N Charles G. Seivers Boulevard., not far from the interstate exit.
