The Clinton Public Library had a busy and successful 2018 as they introduced new programming, saw record attendance, reached high circulation numbers and created more outreach opportunities within the community, according to Clinton Public Library’s public relations coordinator Carisa Ownby.

“This will continue as the staff prepares for an equally exciting 2019,” she said.

The library features programs for all ages, a wide selection of items for every reading level and interest, online sources for research and education and access to TN READs, a digital collection.

The library started Fandom Friday, a program for all ages, on the fourth Friday of every month. This has been one of their most popular programs bringing in more than 100 people to some events. Some of their most popular themes were Disney, Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson.

This event will continue in 2019 with Nintendo in January. Other fandoms scheduled for 2019 include Studio Ghibli, Marvel vs. DC and Star Wars.

The past year’s summer reading theme was Libraries Rock. The library rocked out with all music themed programs and performances, including the finale, Bookaroo. Did you miss the fun in 2018? Don’t worry they are blasting off to space in 2019 and entering into A Universe of Stories.

The library will offer Cookbook Club and Adult Book Club for adults with space themed recipes and books. There will be galaxy-themed teen events and book clubs.

The children’s story times will revolve around our universe including special guests, puppet shows, and science experiments. Keep an eye out for the summer reading brochure detailing all programming for children, teens and adults.

The craft classes have been popular this past year and there has been high demand for sewing classes. They have started offering day and evening sewing classes and will continue this throughout 2019 with Make It Mondays and Evening Endeavors on Jan. 28.

Sewing classes are offered periodically, however, there is always a monthly craft class for everyone from 10 to 110.

Looking for the perfect book? Stop by to see what the staff favorites for 2018 were. They include books from different genres, cultures, reading levels, and age groups. Throughout the library the list for the top circulating items of 2018 for DVDs, juvenile, young adult, and adult books are currently displayed.

The library continues to offer public use computers, circulating Wi-Fi hotspots, books, audiobooks, magazines, DVDs and many more online resources.
