Anderson County Schools art show is April 4
Anderson County Schools will present a student art exhibit from 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Kincaid House in Clinton.
Students, grades Kindergarten through 12th grade will show off their creative skills.
The event is free and open to the public.
Lloyd accepted at Evansville
Sadie Lloyd of Oak Ridge has been accepted to the University of Evansville for enrollment in the Fall 2019 semester.
Two from county earn Clemson honors
Local students have been named to the fall 2018 Dean’s List at Clemson University.
Andrew J. Giles of Clinton, who is majoring in genetics;
Chloe Marie Southmayd of Oak Ridge, who is majoring in landscape architecture.
To be named to the Dean’s List, a student achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.
Alabama lists honors
A total of 12,332 students enrolled during the 2018 fall term at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s).
The UA Dean’s and President’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load. Students on the list include:

Madison Flores of Heiskell, President’s List;
Jacob Bultman of Oak Ridge, President’s List;
Kendall Lloyd of Oak Ridge, Dean’s List;
Courteney Lovell of Oak Ridge, President’s List.
Austin Peay awards
scholarships to four from county
Austin Peay State University celebrates the high-achieving freshmen who have been offered the Presidential Scholarship for the Fall 2019 semester.
Zoe Lockett of Andersonville;
Caitlyn Neer of Clinton; Caroline Ryan of Clinton, and;
Midori Hammer of Oak Ridge.
The Presidential Scholarships are for freshman students who have a 3.0+ GPA and 29 ACT or 1290 SAT.
Students picked for this scholarship showed commitment to academic excellence, and APSU is excited they chose to “Be A Gov” for their higher education.
