Tuesday, Sep 25th Timely Topics meeting Timely Topics Club will holds its first general meeting of 2018-19 at noon Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Clinton Community Center. Dot Howell is president. Christina McNally, a member, will present a program on the South Clinton Inclusive Playground for which ground was broken Aug. 29. It is at 232 Hiway Drive.
Tuesday, Sep 25th Timely Topics Garden Group I meeting The Timely Topics Garden Clubs will begin the club term with meetings next week. Garden Group One, whose chairman is Betty Hollingsworth, will gather for a covered dish luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at hostess Nancy Large's house. The theme will be "Catchin' Up." Garden Group Two, whose chairman is Linda Saylor, will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Apple Blossom Cafe. Betsy Robinson is chairman this year. The group will preview the year using the yearbook produced by Miss Robinson
Wednesday, Sep 26th - CarFit check-ups at Morning Pointe. - The Lantern at Morning Pointe will conduct CarFit check-ups in Clinton on September 26, 2018 at Faith Promise Church, 96 Mainer Point Dr, Clinton. At a CarFit event, trained volunteers complete a 12-point checklist with each driver. Among the items checked: Correct position of driver’s seat; Driver’s ability to easily reach pedals; and, Proper adjustment of mirrors. Occupational therapists are on hand also to provide a consultation, if needed, that will teach drivers how to maintain and improve aspects related to their driving health. The therapist can also provide information to participants addressing individual needs, including information about local community resources on exercise, nutrition and other programs to help keep them safe on the road.
Saturday, Sep 29th The Clinton High School class of 1961 Reunion The Clinton High School class of 1961 will hold its 57th reunion on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Calhoun’s in Oak Ridge, starting with the balloon release honoring their deceased classmates at 5pm, followed by a deluxe buffet at around 6 pm. A cash bar will be provided. On Friday, the 28th, they class will meet at 4 p.m. to tour the new Sports Multiplex at CHS, which their class helped to sponsor, then gather at Hoskins Drug Store before proceeding to the football field for the CHS vs West game at 7:30.
