Saturday, Jul 20th Park tour will offer look into wartime security The Manhattan Project National Historical Park will present a program on Saturday, July 20, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. (ET) at the Turnpike Gatehouse in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The program will give visitors some insight to what life was like in Oak Ridge during the Manhattan Project with all the security, the need for secrecy, and the worry of spies. This program is free and open to the public; parking is limited, so please try to carpool if possible. The Gatehouse is located just past the intersection of Oak Ridge Turnpike and Westover Drive. Visitors can access the Turnpike Gatehouse from Oak Ridge by following the Oak Ridge Turnpike west as if you are leaving town. Parking will be next to the Gatehouse. Saturday, Jul 20th “In the Wild” VBS day camp New Salem Baptist Church invites evertone to attend “In the Wild” VBS day camp on Saturday, July 20th from 1- 6 p.m. Come out and explore God’s Love through His amazing creation. The church will have food, games, crafts and a wonderful time experiencing God’s Love together. Church is located at 1030 Oak Ridge Highway, Clinton.
Sunday, Jul 21st Clinton Church of Christ VBS is July 21 - 25 The Clinton Church of Christ will be hosting Vacation Bible School July 21-25. Sunday evening’s program is from 6 - 8 p.m. and Monday through Thursday is 7 - 9p.m. Each night will provide times of singing, Bible study, puppets, snacks, games and crafts for children of all ages. There will also be a Bible study for adults with a different speaker each evening. The church meets at 500 N. Main Street in Clinton. Sunday, Aug 4th Oak Ridge Community Band “Best of Summer” Concert Oak Ridge Community Band “Best of Summer” Concert will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at A.K. Bissell Park, 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge. This is a free concert; bring a chair or blankets for outdoor seating. Enjoy a music program of swing, jazz, show tunes and marches.
