ANNA LOU MASSENGILL
Anna Lou Massengill, 84, Rocky Top, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2023, at her home.
She was born March 5, 1938, in Jellico to Thorn and Bessie Singleton Housley. She worked for more than 40 years at Oak Ridge Sporting Goods. Anna Lou was known to collect dolls and had more than 800 in her home. She enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores and also liked to camp with her husband when they were younger. She loved her family dearly and was a beloved member of Willowbrook Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: Husband, Bob Massengill; son, Paul Ray Massengill; grandson, James Ray Hunley; and brother, Boby Joe Housley.
She is survived by: Children, Deborah Napier and husband Mike, Melissa Hunley and husband James; brother, John Robert Housley; grandchildren, Chasity Wilkerson (Larry), DeAnna Lane (Ben), Brittany Carden (Jeremy), KayLee Hunley, Bobby Hunley, John Napier, and Andrew Napier (Brittany); great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brooklyn, J.J., and Lizzie; several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
The family received friends at the Leach Family Funeral Home and Cremation from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. with Pastor Roger Leach and the Rev. Jason Lowe officiating.
Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at Oak Grove Cemetery.
