JAMES 'JIM' JONES

James “Jim” Jones, 80, Lake City, passed away Oct. 11, 2023, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

He was born Dec. 31, 1942, in Lee County, Va., to the late Robert Don Jones and Margaret Fox Jones. Jim was a graduate of Lake City High School and retired from Y-12 in Oak Ridge.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: Son, James Ronnie “Little Jim” Jones II; grandson, Chad Ryan Jones; and sister, Donna Faye Jones Elemore.

He is survived by: Wife of 58 years, Judy Hamilton Jones; son, Robert Don Jones (Angel); grandson, James Ronnie “J.R.” Jones III; brothers, Charles Wayne Jones, and R. L. Jones; sister-in-law, Linda Hamilton Henderson (Eddie); and his friends from Fox’s Dinner and The Vols Dinner.

The family will receive friends at the Leach Family Funeral Home and Cremation from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Oak Grove Cemetery.
