Bobbie Jean Foster Dishman
Bobbie Jean Foster Dishman, born Dec. 6, 1934, in Brentwood, Georgia, to Walter and Ruby Wood Foster, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2026.
After moving to Tennessee as a child with her family, Jean met and later married the love of her life, Boyd Dishman, on Christmas Day 1955. They spent the next 50 years raising children, grandchildren and quite a few dogs in Clinton before moving to Kingsport in 2005 to be closer to family.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother who fiercely loved her family. She loved so big you never doubted it. She gave her whole life to her family. She cared deeply. She spoiled us, and she loved us unconditionally. Her most famous words to her family were, “You’re mine.”
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers at The Wexford House and Amedisys Hospice in Kingsport, who so lovingly cared for “Bobbie” for the past several years. Their contribution to her care and life was invaluable, and the family appreciates them tremendously.
Bobbie Jean was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Beth; granddaughter and husband, Miranda and Seth; grandson, Tyler, and his fiancée, Athena, all of Kingsport; granddaughter, Lacey, and her fiancée, Alexander, of Boston; grandson, Joshua Childs; great-grandsons, Cutler Childs and Shaun Stout; great-granddaughter, Emi Stout, of Kingsport; and several loving nieces and nephews who were very special to “Aunt Jean.”
