Cathy Jean (Hansard) Plummer
Cathy Jean (Hansard) Plummer, 73, of Heiskell received her glorified kidney on June 13, 2026. She died peacefully at her home of 55 years with family by her side. She was a long-time member of Fairview Freewill Baptist Church of Heiskell.
Cathy fought a good fight after beginning dialysis in 2013 and now rests in Heaven with her parents, Clyde and Trula White Hansard; sister, Judy Hansard Kitts; and brothers, Kyle Hansard and Harold Hansard.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles Plummer; daughter, Kelley Plummer Rowland (Doug); sons, Troy Plummer (Mendy) and Terry Plummer (Adri); grandchildren, Rilee and Reid Rowland, Alyia and Matthew Plummer, and Kendall Plummer; sister, Margie Hansard Graham; and brother, Doyle Hansard.
Her faith and relationship with the Lord were central to her life. She had a passion for cooking and was well known for her chicken and dumplings and sourdough bread. She loved spending time with her family and working in her gardens. Cathy was a cherished member of the community who was always concerned about helping her neighbors, and acted as a second mother to many children in the community. She was a hard worker who faced life’s difficulties with determination. She was also a well-known prankster who loved a good laugh.
The family extends a special thank-you to her dialysis nurses, Sam, Emma, Ashley, Tara and Terena, and to her nephrologist, Dr. Marcia Lyons, for the love and compassionate care they showed Cathy over the past 13 years.
The family received friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton. A memorial service followed with the Rev. Donnie Wood officiating.
Jones Mortuary is honored to serve the family of Cathy Jean (Hansard) Plummer.
