Roy K. “Poppy” Bailey, 91, Briceville, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, July 27, 2017, at home with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, James Issac and Martha Jane Gaw Bailey; mother of his daughters, first wife, Margie Stafford; daughter, Sandra Stromberg; brothers, James, Howard and Browder; sister, Minnie Green; and son in law, Gary Rowland.
Poppy is survived by: Wife of 37 years, Ruth Seiber Bailey; children, Kaye (John) Christian, Linda Rowland, all of Fairborn, Ohio, Pauline (Glenn ) Bunch of Clinton, Kathy (Jeff) Rhodes of Springboro, Ohio, Robert Seiber of New River, Charlie (Pam) Seiber of Franklin, Ohio, and Curtis (Corky) Sherry of Harriman; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and special cat, Fletcher, Poppy’s boy.
The family would like to offer a very special thank you to hospice nurses, Charlie Pickell and Casady Roberts, for their kind and loving care of Poppy.
A Memorial Service was held at Rock Hill Baptist Church, Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017.
The Rev. Murl Phillips and the Rev. David Seiber officiated. Poppy was interred at Rock Hill Cemetery following the service.

Mr. Melvin Warren Wells, 85, Clinton, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017, at The Lantern at Morning Pointe.
Warren was the owner and operator of Wells Used Cars and Paint Shop in Clinton and was a member of Farmers Grove Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by: Infant son, Donald Lynn Wells; parents, William and Anna Burton Wells; sisters, Wilma Duncan and Irma Wells.
Warren is survived by: Wife, Thelma “Jo” Wells of Clinton; sons, Burl (Sandra) Wells of Clinton, Bill (Shelley) Wells of Edgewater, Fla.; daughter, Marilyn (Bill) Collins of Knoxville, Sally (Steve) Barlow of Andersonville, Becky (Brent) Mounger of Clinton; sister, Jean Taylor of Knoxville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Bobby Metcalf officiating.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Farmers Grove Cemetery.

Teresa Ann Spradlin, 58, Clinton, passed away Monday, July 25, 2017, at her home in Clinton.
Teresa adored her grandkids and loved spending time with them. She loved her job at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, where she worked in registration for nearly 20 years. Teresa had a good sense of humor and was fun to be around.
She was preceded in death by: Mother, Shirley Cooper; sister, Sheryl Bueno; and grandson, Cody Bolton.
Teresa is survived by: Husband of 35 years, Gary Spradlin of Clinton; daughters, Kasie Moore and husband Justin of Halls, and Angela Slover of LaFollette; brother, Kenny Cooper; and sister, Lora Cooper both of Waco, Texas; grandchildren, Julian Headrick, Connor Moore, Shelby Moore, and Olivia Moore.
Teresa’s family would like to give a special thanks to all her friends at Methodist Medical Center and Covenant Hospice.
Teresa’s family received her friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton, with her funeral service immediately following at 7 p.m. with Billy W. Moore officiating.

Marilyn June McCreight, a long-time resident of Oak Ridge, died at the age of 81 Tuesday, July 25, at NHC Healthcare.
Born in Coosa County, Ala., in 1936, June lived in multiple cities in Alabama before making Oak Ridge her home in 1980. She will be most remembered as owner and operator of Ridge Greenhouse and Florist, working beside her beloved husband, Thomas McCreight Sr. Her four children, brought her great joy. She was a tremendous contributor to many gardens in Oak Ridge over the years, offering much guidance and information. She shared her knowledge by writing gardening articles for the “Visions” newspaper. She loved plants, flowers, decorating and her customers.
Many thanks from the family to all our customers, whom we now call friends, that have visited June over the years while in assisted living. Each visit brightened her day.
June was a member a of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge and enjoyed Brother Steve’s sermons on television when she was no longer able to attend church.
June wass preceded in death by: Husband, Thomas McCreight Sr.; son, Tom McCreight Jr.; parents, Reed and Thelma “Lowry” Nickolson; and brothers, Jimmy Reed Nickolson and Sherril Nickolson
She is survived by: Daughters, Kathy Brophy (Jim), Katie Campbell (Steve) and Kelley Gormley; sister, Sandra Richardson (Andy); grandchildren, Samantha Justice, Kellsie Campbell, Abby Gormley and J.T. Gormley.
Graveside service for June was held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.

Patsy Ann Maxfield, 75, Clinton, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
She was born Feb. 19, 1942, to the late John Epp and Sally Thompson Maxfield.
Patsy loved watching television, especially sports and playing Bingo. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by: Sister, Ella Sue Qualls; brothers, Ed Ballew and DL Ballew; sister-in-law, Patricia Ann Maxfield.
Survived by: Brothers, Joe Maxfield and wife Betty of Rocky Top, Jay Maxfield of Clinton; great-nephew, Austin Ray Smith of Clinton; niece, Tina Maxfield Gering and husband Richard of Clinton; nephews, Shannon Qualls and wife Julie of Dover, Ky., David Qualls of Maysville, Ky.; brother-in-law, Buddy Qualls of Maryville, Ky.; special friend, Carol Fischel of Elyria, Ohio; a host of other family and friends.

Franklin Russell Massengale, born Jan. 25, 1943, in Morgan County, moved to his heavenly home Saturday, July 29, 2017.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, Frank and Alene Massengale; brother, Troy Massengale; grandparents, Hobart and Ora Massengale, James Daugherty and Ella Seiber Daugherty.
He is survived by: Loving wife of 55 years, Helen Diane Massengale (Carolyn); sons, Jeff Massengill, Tim and wife Selinda Massengill, and daughter-in-law Melanie Massengill; grandchildren, Tyler Massengill, Michelle (Massengill) and husband Skylar Scalia, Haylee (Massengill) and husband Tanner Walker, Caleb Massengill and Hannah Massengill; great-grandchildren, Malakia Scalia; brother, Luther and wife Wilma Massengill; sister, Dale and husband Bill Weaver; sister-in-law, Janice (Massengill) Cortez; and several nieces and nephews; special friends, Raymond Phillips and Jack Dickson, Sherril Buck; and a host of other friends.
He was the Pastor of the Clinton Church of God of Prophecy for 44 years and prior to that he was the Pastor of the Oliver Springs Church of God of Prophecy for six years. He was known for showing the love of Christ and showing love to everyone.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Premier Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs.
The funeral service follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastors E.C. McKinley, Luther Massengale, and Larry Noe officiating.
Burial and graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Estes Cemetery in Coalfield. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. to go in the funeral procession.

She was a member of Creek Road Baptist Church in Sharonville, Ohio. Rebecca enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Rebecca is survived by: Loving husband, Jimmy of Sharonville, Ohio; dear son, Ronnie Lynn and wife Kristi Hamilton of Clinton; brothers, Kirby Logan and the late Robert Logan; and sister, Joanne and husband Paul Graves; and dear grandson, Lance Hamilton.
