Alma “Auntie” Jean May, 89, Clinton — heaven gained an angel Aug. 19, 2020.
She was born April 24, 1931, to the late Luther and Dixie Webber May. Alma was a member of Farmers Grove Baptist Church, where she was the Sunday school treasurer and loved her church family. Alma was a very special lady to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by: Brother, Ostes May; and nephew, Joel May.
Survived by: Nieces, Mary Gibson and husband Melvon, Dixie Bumgardner, Sandra Taylor; special great-nephew, Wesley Gibson and wife Elizabeth; nephew, James May and wife Wendy; great-nieces, April Tinker and Amanda Dotson; great-nephew, B.J. Dotson; a host of other family and friends.
The family would like to thank all the PCM nurses for all their love and care during Ms. Alma’s sickness.
The family received friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the funeral service following at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Bobby Metcalf officiating.
Family and friends met at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020, to go in funeral procession to the Farmers Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Barbara Cunningham Williams, 80, Clinton, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
She was born in Clinton to the late Alexander and Bertha Marie Brittle Cunningham. Barbara was a member of Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church and retired from Hoskins Drug Store after working there for 17 years.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by: Husband, Charlie Williams; and sister, Nancy Cunningham.
Survived by: Sons, Bobby Cunningham, David Cunningham and wife Phyllis; sister, Joan Smith and husband Roy; brother, Larry Cunningham; grandchildren, Kayla Dawn Cunningham, Mathew Cunningham and Cheyann Chandler; great-grandchildren, Kenzlee Nix and Cooper Nix; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Barbara’s interment was held at Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2020.

Georgia Lorene Hill Cox, 98, Clinton, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020.
She was born Oct. 20, 1921, in Loyston to the late L.G. “Gip” Hill and Bessie Stooksbury. She was a member of Hinds Creek Baptist Church and worked at Magnet Mills in Clinton and Davis Manufacturing Company Inc. in Knoxville. She loved working her garden with her flowers and also loved her dog, cats, and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by: Husband, Charles Elmore Cox; son, Daniel E. Cox; brothers, Vaughn Hill, Carson Hill, and Billy Hill; sisters, Retta Mae Hill Hickson and Gertrude Hill Stokes.
She is survived by:Son, Charles Ed Cox; grandchildren, Matthew Cox and wife Jackie, Amy Fox and husband Jim, and Denice Satterfield and husband Gerald; great-grandchildren, Charleigh Saige Cox, Lainey Cox, Daniella “Dana” Cox, Dalton Sams, Ryle Sams, Gracie and Cate Satterfield; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Daniel (Cathy) Cox; siblings, Mary June Hill Hillon, Letta Lou Hill Graham, and Jack Hill

Her graveside was at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2020, at Norris Memorial Garden.

WILLARD RALPH SHELTON JR.

Willard Ralph Shelton Jr., better known as “Willie,” Powell, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
Willie played football with the Carson Newman College. He loved NASCAR and any kind of racing. Willie sponsored Lenoir City Elementary School Stop, Drop and Roll Program, also the Claxton and Clinton Optimist Clubs. He was a big supporter of the Kerbela Temple Lenoir City Chapter. Willie was an Eagle Scout leader with Claxton, Clinton and Lake City groups. He enjoyed camping and boating. Willie was the owner of A-Plus Paint and Body Shop in Lenoir City.
Willie was preceded in death by: Parents, Willard Sr. and Earleen Shelton.
He is survived by: The love of his life, best friend and soul mate, Cindy Shelton of Clinton; stepson, Zachary Murray of Clinton; stepdaughter, Amber Renee Scott of Oak Ridge; sisters, Kathy Nogradi and husband Scott of Clinton, and Dianna Eldridge of Clinton; nieces, Molly and Harliegh; nephews, Paul, James, and Will; and a host of friends.
Willie’s family will receive his friends from 5 – 8 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, in the chapel of Jones in Clinton.
His interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge.

ROBERT GLENN GILLIAM

Robert Glenn Gilliam, 63, Clinton, went to be with his Lord and Savior Aug. 15, 2020.
He was the son of the late Billy D. and Shelby (Braden) Gilliam.
Left to cherish his memory are: Wife of 39 years, Alice; son, Tyler (Savannah); grandchildren, Easton and Brinleigh, who were the absolute light of his life; step-grandchildren, Colten and Allie Stubbs; sister, Phyllis Gilliam; brother in-law, Mike Adkins and wife Irma; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Glenn loved his country and joined the US Air Force in 1975. He had a long career in law enforcement working at the Anderson County Sherriff Department, Clinton Police Department, and internationally in Kosovo, Lebanon, Haiti and Iraq. He was honored by the US State Department in July 2004 for extraordinary courage and dedication as a Police Officer with the United Nations in Kosovo. In August, 2004, he received the Commanders Award for Public Service from the US Army. In 1998 he was recognized as one of the nation’s top police officers, representing Tennessee and received the Top Cop Award in Washington, D.C. He loved his brothers and sisters in blue.
Nothing gave him more joy and happiness than spending time with his grandkids who he adored. Whether at the ball field, dance recitals, or at home playing with them, being with them was his heaven on earth. He especially loved their Saturday night sleep overs and taking them to church. Glenn never met an old truck he didn’t like and enjoyed working on his truck with “truck buddies.” Glenn was a Christ follower and a member of Main Street Baptist Church.

Christopher Bilbro Hogue, 49, Andersonville, went to be with the Lord after a sudden passing on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020.
Chris was a life-long resident of Anderson County and a 1989 graduate of Clinton High School. He was a sales manager in his family's business, Fox Toyota, where he had worked since his teenage years. Chris was well-loved by his customers and colleagues alike and recognized for his success with Excellence in Sales awards. In his free time, he could be found on Norris Lake with his beloved family and his dogs.
Chris was preceded in death by: Mother, Patricia Fox Hogue; father, Butch Bilbro; sister, Katherine Hogue; and both paternal and maternal grandparents.
He is survived by: Wife, Crystie Hogue; two children, Haley and Hunter; father, Jeff Hogue of Andersonville; father-in-law, Steve Elkins; brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Hillary Hogue of Farragut; brother, Kevan Hogue of Andersonville; brother-in-law and wife, Terry and Melsan Cawood; sister-in-law and husband, Donna ad Steve Loy; aunt, Becky Grubb of Clinton; uncles, Stanley Fox and Ronnie Fox of Clinton; and multiple cousins, nieces, nephews and his Bilbro family.

Beverly Wilshire, 70, Clinton, passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at her home with her family by her side.
She was a loving wife, mother and loved her grandchildren very much. Beverly loved her church and was a devout member of Moran Baptist Church in Marlow where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.
Beverly was preceded in death by: Parents, Charlie and Juanita Roach; brothers, Randy Roach and Arthur Lynn Roach; and brother-in-law, Richard Dixon.
Beverly is survived by: Husband, Delmer Wilshire of Clinton; daughters, Shawna Watson and husband Steve of Clinton, and Marissa Kastelic and husband Drew of Knoxville; brother, Rodney Roach and wife Sheila of Clinton; sister, Michelle Dixon of Clinton; grandchildren, Scarlett Watson and Jacob Watson; and a host of other extended family, church family and friends.

T.L. Johnson, 83, Lake City, passed away, Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was born Dec. 6, 1936, in Anderson County to the late William and Lois Disney Johnson.
T.L. was retired from General Motors. He was also an Army Veteran who enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars. T.L. was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by: Parents; sister, Dorothy Robbins; and grandson, David Dockery Jr.
Survivors: Wife, Linda Johnson of Lake City; sons, William Johnson of Baltimore, Md., David Dockery of Rhea County; daughter, Barb West of Lake City; special daughter, Betty Carroll; sister, Diane Marlow and Lowell of Lake City; grandchildren, Aaron West, Cody West, Brandon Dockery, Cheyenne Dockery, C.J. Hutchinson, Shannon Hutchison and Danny Kidd; six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5 – 7 p.m.Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, at Hatmaker Funeral Home.
Funeral service was at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mitchell Wilson and Scott Martin Officiating.
Interment was at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2020, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City, with military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
