RITA WHITE HICKS

Rita White Hicks was born Sept. 1, 1953, in Lake City to the late Millard and Dorothy Nancy White. Loving Angels came to carry her home Dec. 23, 2018.

She was preceded in death by: Parents; and her former husband and father of her sons, Joseph Michael Hicks Sr.

Rita professed her love in Christ at Island Ford Baptist Church. She attended Riverview Elementary, Lake City Elementary, and graduated from Lake City High School. She went on to graduate from Tennessee Tech University. Rita worked for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for many years. She retired from the TBI. Rita was a very friendly, compassionate, and giving woman, who loved her family unconditionally. She loved spending time with her grandbabies. Her sons and grandbabies were her world.

Rita leaves to cherish her unforgettable memories: Her loving sons, Micheal Hicks (Lacey) and Matt Hicks (Tia); brothers, Bill White (Yoshiko), Larry White (Pauline), and Bob White; sister, Patsy White Duncan (Bill); grandchildren. Kaelyn Alyse Hicks, Matthew Thomas Hicks Jr., Kallie Monroe Hicks, Weston Chander Evans, and Holden Micheal Hicks; devoted nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be from noon – 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Hatmaker Funeral Home in Lake City.

Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Ault officiating.

A graveside service will take place following the funeral service Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Island Ford Cemetery in Lake City.

PELHAM FRANKLIN ANDREWS

Pelham Franklin Andrews passed peacefully into the arms of God Dec. 23, 2018, at the Ben Atchley State Veterans Home at the age of 95.

Pelham was born April 23, 1923, and was a 1941 graduate of Clinton High School where he was a member of the basketball team and Captain of the football team. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and proudly served his country. He served in the National Guard for 17 years and retired from the US Postal Service.

Pelham was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Faith Andrews, and his mother, Lela G. Miller.

He is survived by: Sons, Bill Andrews and Becky of Clinton, Phil Andrews and wife Patti of Powell; grandchildren, Phillip Andrews and wife Krystal of Knoxville, John Andrews and wife Heather of Knoxville, Robert Andrews of South Carolina, Brad Andrews of Johnson City, Ben Andrews of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Braden, Olivia and Aubrey all of Knoxville.

The family extends a special “Thank You” to the Clinton Fire Department that responded many times to Pelham’s residence to assist him when he would fall and to the Ben Atchley State Veterans Home for showing such compassion and treating him with the utmost honor and respect.

Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, to go in procession to Sunset Cemetery for a graveside service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Thomas officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

PITNEY SEIBER

Pitney Seiber, 74, passed away at his home Saturday Dec. 22, 2018.

After 64 years of ministry the Lord decided it was time for him to rest. Pitney was born July 18, 1944 at Henry Flats, near Red Oak Mountain in New River, to Anna Mae (Bunch) Seiber and Mitchell Seiber Sr. Pitney accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 10 and his life would never be the same. Pitney led numerous souls to the Lord during his ministry. He pastored churches in Tennessee and South Dakota and led revivals in five different decades across several states and Canada. He will always be known for his big smile, his love for the Lord and ability to talk to anyone on their level.

Pitney is survived by: Wife of 32 years, Jane; brother, Mitchell Seiber Jr., who he had resided with for the past eight years in Beech Fork; children, Johnny and Tami Seiber (Michaela, Maegan and Konnor) Sisseton, S.D., Larry and Carmen Seiber (Talia, Courtney, Cameron) Lake City, Debbie Seiber and Matthew Bunch (Timothy, Hope, Bethany, John, Cierra, Lilly and Matt) Oliver Springs, Marsha and Bob Patterson (Anistin, Sheridan, Palin and Lathan) Clinton; sisters, Lorene (Thomas) Ward of Caryville, Brenda Ward Osborne of Pioneer, Dean (Gary) Davis of Petros, Edis seiber of Louisiana; brother, Raymond Seiber of Rocky Top; special friends, Wilma, Arthur, Christine, Mart and Lois.

Pitney was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers: Austin Seiber, Joel Seiber; and sister, Margret Byrge

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City.

Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at Main Street Baptist Church with the Rev. David Seiber, the Rev. Wayne Phillips, the Rev. Ray Ward, and the Rev. Odis Phillips officiating.

A graveside service will take place following the funeral service Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at the Seiber Cemetery in New River.

PAUL EDWARD VOWELL JR.

Paul Edward Vowell Jr., 79, passed away Dec. 22, 2018, at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville.

He was born April 7, 1939, to the late Paul E. and Dorothy Wood Vowell. Paul graduated from Lake City High School where he was a cheerleader. He then went on to graduate from Carson-Newman College, where he was also a cheerleader. Paul taught school for several years then went to Oklahoma City, Okla., where he worked for the State of Oklahoma until his retirement. He spent his later years living in Maryville.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by: Brother, Ralph, and wife Connie; nephew, Kevin, all of Vonore; also survived by niece, Kristy Christian and husband Will of Pensacola, Fla.

There was a graveside service held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at Woodhaven Cemetery in Claxton, with the Rev. Larry Webster officiating.

TERESA MONIQUE RUTHERFORD

Teresa Monique Rutherford, 21, Rocky Top, passed away suddenly Dec. 20, 2018, at Blount Memorial Hospital.

Monique is preceded in death by: Grandparents, Rebecca Monday and Allen Foust; and uncle, James Rutherford.

Monique is survived by: Son, Luis (age two) and Jose (age one); parents, Bran-dy Goetler and Rickey (Beki) Rutherford; grandparents, Paul Monday, Charlene Foust, Rick (Syble) Rutherford; great-grandparents, James Rutherford and Pan-sy Monday; siblings, Cassidy (Ishmael) Jaimes, Angel and Faith Baker, Nevaeh and Brayln Mincey, Abigail, Rickey Jr., Issiah, and David Rutherford; step-moms, Leeann Rutherford, Mary Warwick, and Amy Vribe; special friends, Luis, Haley, Arianna, Luis and Carmen Plascensia; one niece; two nephews; several aunts and uncles, extended family and friends.

Special thanks to Blount Memorial SICU nurses and doctors. Monique helped many by donating her organs.

JERRY WAYNE DAUGHERTY

Jerry Daugherty, a servant of Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior, went to his heavenly home and reward, Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018.

He was born May 4, 1947, in Anderson County, where he lived most of his life. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he taught Bible classes and taught in the Road to Recovery group. Jerry worked as a funeral assistant for Martin Funeral Home in Oak Ridge and for Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. After his retirement, he worked part time at Ace Hardware in Oliver Springs. He enjoyed golf and woodworking, but the most important things to him were his family and his Savior.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, Harry and Hazel Daugherty; siblings, Ronnie Daugherty, Dane Daugherty, and Judy Daugherty.

Survivors include: Wife of 39 years, Sandy Daugherty; children, Tammy and Bill Clague of Chardon, Ohio, and Kadie Phillips of Clinton; grandchildren, Chris Phillips, Rylee Phillips, and Madison Clague; along with a host of special friends and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge.

Funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. with Dr. Steve McDonald and Randy Tedford officiating. A graveside with Military Honors will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton.

AMANDA MARIE KING

Amanda Marie King, 36, Clinton, born May 21, 1982, passed away suddenly Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at her home.

She was of the Baptist faith. Amanda was a loving and caring person and would do anything to help anyone. She was a loving mother to her son, Chantz. Her favorite quote was, “Everything happens for a reason.”

Amanda was preceded in death by: Papaw, Paul Eugene King; Mamaw, Edith Elliott; aunt, Tammy Thompson (Elliott).

Amanda is survived by: Dad, Paul Eugene King Jr; Momma, Teresa Light; son, Chantz King; sister, Christy Cottrill; brother, Shaun King; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Amanda’s family will receive her friends from 6 – 8 p.m. with her celebration of life following at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with the Rev. Larry Rosenbalm officiating.

EARL DAVE WELLS

Earl Dave Wells, 80, Clinton passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at NHC Healthcare Center.

Earl was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Powell. Throughout his life Earl enjoyed attending church activities, watching sports, the history channel, and adult coloring.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, Brad and Mossie Elder Wells; brothers, Bennett Dial; sister, Estella Dial Miller.

He is survived by: Loving wife of 56 years, Shirley Utley Wells; sons, Michael “Steven” Wells and wife Jeannie, Jeffrey Alan Wells; sister, Eva Marie Wells McCarty; grandchildren, Tyler Wells and Jalah Jett; great-grandchildren, Noah Jett and Kenzee Jett; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at Temple Baptist Church.

His funeral service will follow with the Rev. Clarence Sexton, Dave Rosser, and Roger Hilliard officiating. His graveside will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, at Hillvale Baptist Church Cemetery.
