Tony Nolen, 58, Knoxville, passed away April 11, 2017, at Ft. Sanders Regional in Knoxville.
Tony was a member of Second Baptist Church and was a medical courier for Transolutions and Logistics. Throughout his life Tony was an avid book reader, loved cars and drawing.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Nolen.
He is survived by: Wife, Angela Nolen of Clinton; mother, Thelma Nolen of Oak Ridge; sister, Teresa Pratt and husband Todd of Knoxville; mother-in-law, Charlotte Conlee; nieces, Sarah Bengel, Annabeth Conlee; nephew, Austin Conlee; three great-nephews.
The family received friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. His funeral services followed in the chapel with Dr. Michael Thompson and Brother Steve Ross officiating. His burial was at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Forrest Hill East Cemetery in Memphis.

JAMES A. MOHRMAN

James A. Mohrman, born March 5, 1930, of the late John W. and Ruth Zimmerman Mohrman of Fulton, Ill., died March 26, 2017.
He attended one year at St. Ambrose College, Davenport, IA.; received a B.A. degree from Missouri Valley College, Marshall, Mo., and served in the U.S. Army two years post Korean War; he received bachelor of Divinity McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, Ill.; and was the former pastor of Canyon and Rock Forge Presbyterian Churches, Monongalia County, W.Va., and Clear Creek, Colcord, and Marsh Fork Presbyterian Churches in Raleigh County, W.Va.
He retired in 1996. Since then he spent time volunteering with Mon County Habitat for Humanity, then moved to Norris after his wife’s death. He was involved with Fountain City Presbyterian Church, Norris Lions Club, Norris AARP and the newly formed Ride service NORVAT.
He was preceded in death by: Wife, Lou Ann Moeller Mohrman; three sisters; and two brothers.
He is survived by; One sister; sons, James T. Mohrman, Jon E. Mohrman; and daughter, Catherine J. Moore.
Donations can be given in lieu of flowers to Habitat for Humanity.
A non-denominational memorial gathering was held at 3 p.m. April 8, 2017, at Joseph’s Catholic Church Norris.

MRS. BEA DAVIS IRONS

Mrs. Bea Davis Irons of Claxton went home to be with the Lord April 10, 2017.
She was born July 8, 1929, and grew up on Coker Creek in Monroe County where she met her husband of 66 years Jim Irons.
She was a devout Christian and a member of Edgemoor Baptist Church for 46 years and a member of the 39ers. She also enjoyed the outdoors and flower gardening. She was most proud of her quilts and the time she spent with her daughters, friends, and church family making them.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Fred and Ether Roberts Davis; and brothers and sisters, Aretta, Nina, Arvil, Albert, Gwendlin, Edith, Maggie and James.
She is survived by: Husband, Jim Irons of Claxton; children, Brenda and husband Robert Mink of Claxton, Polly and husband Doug Seaton of Knoxville, Steve and Tracy Irons of Clinton, Jimmie and Jamie Irons of Clinton, and Sandy Irons of Karnes; grandchildren, Douglas Stringfield, Justin and wife Kristy Stringfield, Keith and wife Lindsey Stringfield, Lee and wife Rachel Irons, Drew and wife Michelle Irons, Kala and husband Beau Young, Wesley Irons and Madison Irons; great-grandchildren, Avery and Emery Stringfield, Maggie and Naomi Stringfield, Harrison and Ethan Stringfield; many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
The family received family and friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Edgemoor Baptist Church at 330 Old Emery Road, Clinton, with funeral services following. A private graveside service was held the following day.
The Rev. Rick Miller officiated with her grandsons Douglas, Justin, Keith, Lee, Drew and Wesley served as pallbearers.

Margaret McKamey, 91, Dalton, Ga., passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Wood Dale Health Care.
She was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church and a member of the Dalton Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Ms. McKamey was preceded in death by: Husband, Charles Lee McKamey; daughter, Patricia Gail Ballard.
She is survived by: Daughter, Brenda Sue McKamey Scott of Sherrill’s Ford, N.C.; two sons, Charles Lee McKamey II of Signal Mountain, and David Warren McKamey of Dalton; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home.
Her graveside service will follow her visitation at Norris Memorial Garden with the Rev. Billy Kurtz officiating.

Paul Ash, 86, Caryville, went to be with the Lord at 2:30 p.m. Good Friday, April 14, 2017, after a brief illness.
Paul owned Cherokee Heating and Electric Company for many years servicing LaFollette, Caryville, and the Rocky Top area. He was well known for his honesty and fairness in dealing with his clients. Even after retiring from the business 10 years ago he was still willing to give a helping hand to those needing a job done.
He and the love of his life Phyllis were married in 2003. They were not only husband and wife; they were best friends that spent the next 14 years finding joy and contentment with one another. He was a member of Vasper Baptist Church. Paul was loved and will be missed by both family and friends.
He is survived by: Wife, Phyllis, his Baby and he was her Sweetheart; two sons, Larry (Connie), Darrell (Kimberly); and his stepson Coy Crutchfield (Laurie); along with four grandchildren, Faren, Stevie, Jessie and Carly; a step granddaughter, Amy; and a combination of seven great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Rocky Top from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m.
Graveside service was at 11 a.m. the following morning at New Vasper Cemetery.

Wilma Dellaphine Bailey, Clinton, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017.
Preceded in death by: Husband, William F. Bailey Sr.; son, Leroy Smith; parents, Roscoe and Maude Smith; brothers, Chester and Eugene Smith; sisters, Ruth Currier and Rose Cox.
Survived by: Daughters, Darlene Bailey of Heiskell, Teresa Early of Clinton, Sandy Phillips of Clinton; sons, David Bailey of Clinton, William F. Bailey Jr. and wife Geraldine of Maynardville; brothers, Audrey Smith of Clinton, Charlie Smith of Kernersville, N.C., Roger Smith of Clinton, Roy Smith of Scottsboro, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Bobby Phillips, Crystal Wilson, Chris Jeffers, Kim Jeffers, Shaunda Andrews, Tiffany Austin and Savannah Graham; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

DANIEL (DAN) HIBBARD BUSHEY

Daniel (Dan) Hibbard Bushey, 88, Kingston, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Parkwest Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Stacyville, Maine. He was a member of Park West Church in Knoxville and attended Harriman Church of God. Danny loved the Lord and he proved it in his daily walk as he witnessed to everyone he came in contact with. He was a United States Army veteran who served his country proudly in Korea, receiving several citations and medals including the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars. Before going into the military, he had worked as a farmer. He enjoyed working outdoors on his tractor, cutting trees, doing carpentry work and helping his neighbors.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Joseph and Anne Socia Bushey; sisters, Hilda Sanborn, Rena Bernard and Nina Rickle; brothers, Leonard and Raymond Bushey.
Survivors: Loving wife of 62 years, Odella Ayotte Bushey of Kingston; children, Joe Bushey of Kingston, Daniel Bushey of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael Bushey and wife Donna of Portland, Lisa Rutkowski and husband Stephen of Kingston; grandchildren, Raymond, Daniel, Dakota, Ellie, Michael, Eric Paul Bushey,

ANTHONY (TONY) GEORGE CROSS

Anthony (Tony) George Cross, 64, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, in Murray, Ky.
Tony was born in Knoxville and attended Karns High School then received a basketball scholarship playing for Belmont University. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, later receiving his master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Tennessee.
He began his basketball coaching career at Norma Elementary School coaching both the boys’ and girls’ teams. He then became the girls’ head basketball coach at Lake City High School where in his fourth season the team earned the No. 1 ranking in Class AA and Cross was honored as the East Tennessee Coach of the Year. Cross served one year as the girls’ head basketball coach at the newly opened Anderson County High School before moving to the University of Tennessee in 1983 serving as a graduate assistant for Pat Summitt.
In 1984, Coach Cross became the head women’s basketball coach at Belmont University leading the program for 26 years. During his tenure, Belmont made numerous tournament appearances, won several district titles and regular season championships, and one Atlantic Sun tournament title giving the program its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. In 1994 Cross was inducted into the Belmont University Athletic Hall of Fame. He still remains the winningest coach in program history and ranks in the Top 50 all-time in career victories in NCAA women’s basketball. In 2010, Cross became the assistant women’s basketball coach at Murray State University where he finished his career in 2016.
Everyone who knew Coach Cross, knew that coaching basketball meant much more to him than just wins and losses or receiving awards and recognition. It meant teaching fundamentals and work ethic, building character and teamwork and passing along the wisdom and knowledge that helped his players be successful long after their playing days were over. He often referred to his players as “his girls” because they meant so much more to him than just athletes who would come and go. He loved nothing more than keeping in touch with them, following their careers and hearing about their families. Tony and his wife, Lois, both considered themselves blessed to have had the opportunity to share their lives with so many strong, outstanding women as well as becoming close friends with many coaches.
He attended Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling with his wife Lois and watching all sporting events. Having no children, Tony enjoyed being “Uncle T” to his nephews, Lee and Drew, taking them special places and just spending time with them. And of course, all who knew Tony knew he had a fantastic sense of humor. His quick wit and unique perspective have provided many laughs through the years and will continue to do so in the days ahead.
Tony was preceded in death by: Parents, Cleois and Chlora Cross; and mother-in-law, Wanda Wilder.
He is survived by: Wife, Lois; aunts, Sarah Gaylor and Trula Huddleston; uncle, Estel Woodward (Valerie); father-in-law, Virgil Wilder; sisters-in-law, Lesa Williams (Tim) and Rita Wilder; nephews, Lee (Rachel) and Drew (Michelle) Irons, and Travis (Amy) Williams; nieces, Lindsey Wilder and Kala (Beau) Young, and much loved pet, Gracie.
Visitation will take place from 1 – 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray, Ky., with a memorial service following at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. Martin Severns officiating.
