Edith Lorene Cooper, 95, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022.
Edith was born June 17, 1927, in Belfry, Ky., to Martha and Roy Edmonds. Her family moved to the Ball Camp area in 1931 and subsequently to the Clinton area. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1945 and was employed by Magnet Mills where she met her spouse. They were married in 1952 and moved to Heiskell. They subsequently moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 1969.
She was preceded in death by: Husband, Calvin Coolidge Cooper; and son, Russell Terrence Cooper.
She is survived by her: Son, Jeffrey Calvin Cooper and wife Jane Cooper of Abilene, Texas; daughter, Jenny Ann Peters and husband Mark Peters of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Myrna Cooper of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, followed by burial at Zion Cemetery in Claxton.

JOHN BAILEY

John Bailey, 80, Knoxville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, at the Select Specialty Hospital.
He was born in Oliver Springs to Alfred and Jessie Williamson Bailey. John was a long-time member of the Bethel Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and treasurer for many years. He was a kind, generous, soft spoken and a servant of the Lord. John was an avid University of Tennessee football fan and held season tickets for many years. He was also a member of NRA and loved Southern Gospel music.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by: Mother-in-law, Dell Horton; sister-in-law, Linda Bailey; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Survived by: Loving wife of nearly 50 years, Ruth Ann Bailey; devoted brother, Gary Bailey; special cousins, Rick Gibbs of St. Jude, Fla., and Wayne and Marian Gibbs of Dade City, Fla.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Darrell Taylor officiating.
John’s interment will be held at Anderson Memorial Garden at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022.

Ronald L. Hooks, 76, went to be with the Lord Oct. 1, 2022, at his home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1946.
Ronnie was a member of Second Baptist Church of Clinton. He retired from the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father and mother, Elmer L. and Nancy Hooks.
He is survived by: Wife, Martha Hooks; son, Bryan Hooks (Kimberly); grandchildren, Reese and Raegan Hooks; brother, Donnie Hooks (Dora); sisters, Patsy McConkey, Judy McKenney, Helen Fowler.
Ronnie had a wonderful caregiver, Pat White, who gave him loving care.
The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice for their love and care.

Daniel Joseph Belcher, 49, Clinton, was unexpectedly called to his heavenly home Sept. 29, 2022.
He was born July 21, 1973, to Clarence William (Bill) and Patricia Belcher in Sterling Heights, Mich. He leaves behind his loving wife of 22 years, his two daughters who he adored, and his beloved service dog.
Daniel never met a stranger and was beloved by everyone he met. He had the biggest heart and would do almost anything to help someone in need. He was a proud disabled veteran of the United States Air Force. Although he struggled every day with pain from injuries during his military service time, he had an amazing spirit and was determined to live each day to the fullest and give his family the best life possible. He was so grateful to be a Smoky Mountain Service Dog recipient, who paired him with his amazing service dog and also became part of his extended family. He was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church and came to think of everyone there as his family. His proudest accomplishments were his two daughters, who he adored and was extremely proud of. He loved his family more than anything in this world and would do anything for them.
He was preceded in death by: Grandmothers, Delorce McKinney and Laune Stiltner; sister, Amanda Gross; brother, David and father, Bill.
He is survived by: Loving wife, Michelle; daughters, Olivia and Ambre; granddaughters, Amirah and Arwynn; service dog, Stryker; father and mother-in-law, Audry and Carolyn Goins; mother, Patricia; special friends, Ralph Scott and Brian Carlton.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at Black Oak Baptist Church.
His funeral service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Matthew Thompson officiating.
Daniel’s graveside will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at Black Oak Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors at graveside.

JAMES (JIM) RIDENOUR

James (Jim) Ridenour, 67, Coalfeild, formerly of Andersonville, passed away Sunday Sept. 25, 2022, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge after a lengthy illness.
His enjoyments included country life and his beloved pets.
Preceded in death by: Mother, Ada Ridenour; father, Oscar Ridenour; and brother, Charles Ridenour.
Survived by: Loving wife, Lisa Ridenour; son, Dustin Coin; mother and father-in-law, Jackie and Wilbur Warwick; also including but not limited to a host of cousins, nieces/nephews, sisters/brothers-in-law, and special friends.
No memorial services will be done per Jim’s wishes.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and doctors who cared for Jim during his hospital stay and illness.

Clarice Deaton Smith went to be with the Lord Sept. 24, 2022.
Clarice was an active member of Temple Baptist Church in Powell for more than 50 years. Clarice was the mother of four children, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Clarice loved to quilt, bead and sew for all of her family and friends. She also loved to cook and bake. Clarice was born in Williba, Ky., May 18,1929, to George Lee and Jesse Moore Deaton.
Clarice was preceded in death by: Husband, James Carl Smith; and daughter, Vzonda Jones.
A memorial service will be held at Temple Baptist Church in Powell from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022.
Visitation will be from 5 -7 p.m., followed by a service at 7 p.m.

Maxine Ogle Moles, 78, Sevierville, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2022.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, William and Clora Ogle; husband and love her life, Marshall Junior Moles; and travel partner, Luke Denmann.
Survivors include: Children, Melissa Zeigler and husband Paul, Marcia Cleland and husband Walter, and Mark Moles; as well as her grandchildren, Sonja, John, Candace, Corey, Brandon, Samantha, and Chase Anthony.
In addition, she is survived by: Great-grandchildren, Alivia, John, II, Brody Marshall, Chloe, Nora, Parker, Brandon, Kendall, Aubrey and Maverick; as well as her sister, Aileen Thearp and husband Roy; and brother, Tim Ogle.

ROBERT 'DAVID' FULTON

Robert “David” Fulton, 81, Clinton passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.
He was born June 21, 1941, in Knoxville to Robert and Kathleen Fulton. Robert owned and operated Fulton TV Sales and Service in Clinton and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed playing golf and hunting off his back porch.
David was a member of Clinton Church of God.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in deathby: Daughter, Angelina “Tina” Fulton; sister, Jackie Robertson.
He is survived by: Children, Robbie Fulton of Clinton and Debra Powers and husband William “Bill” of Knoxville; mother of his children, Gina Fulton of Clinton; grandchildren, Parker Fulton, Grey Powers, and Liam Powers.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at Clinton Church of God.
His service will follow with the Rev. Curtis Akers officiating.
His graveside will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at Grandview Memorial Garden with full military honors at graveside.
