Clorene Patterson Daugherty, 89, Oliver Springs, formally of Devonia, passed away Oct. 28, 2018, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center due to stroke complications.
She was retired from TVA Natural Resources, Norris, and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Devonia. She loved watching Lady Vols basketball.
Preceded in death by: Two sons, Gary and Terry, whom she thought was two little angels; husband, Delbert; parents, Dorsey and Susie Patterson; sisters, Cleo and Charlene; sister-in-law, Dee Patterson, whom she thought of as a sister.
Survivors: Daughter, Cathy of Oliver Springs; sister, Bobbie Hibbs (Bill) of Jacksonville, Ark.; brother, Leland Patterson of Brooklyn, Ohio; three grandsons, Randy Daugherty (Stacy) of Heiskell, Mike of Oliver Springs, Brandon (Delisa) of Lafayette; two great-grandkids, Heather and Brett Daugherty; a host of other friends and relatives; and special friends, Opal and Frankie Hite and Glenith Bratcher.
The family would like to thank the staff at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Neuro Critical Care Unit and 5 East, who provided the best care and comfort, everyone was so kind and passionate. It was greatly appreciated.

William “Bill” Thomas Anthony, 77, Oliver Springs, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at his home.
Bill loved to watch football and was an avid University of Tennessee football fan.
Bill was preceded in death by: Parents, John and Marie Anthony; brother, Rick Anthony; sister, Connie Schafer; and sister-in-law, Mary Anthony.
Bill is survived by: Brothers, Johnny Anthony and wife Linda of Clinton, and Gary Anthony of Oak Ridge; sisters, Bonnie Harvey, whom was his caregiver for many years, Darlene Pierce and husband Jim of Milton, Fla., and Patricia Scruggs and husband, Doug of Oak Ridge; and sister-in-law, Diane Anthony.
Bill also leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom he was a beloved uncle to.

James Kenneth Yates, 40, Lafollette, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Tennova North Knox Medical Center in Powell after a long illness.
He was of the Baptist faith.
James is preceded in death by: Father, Ronald Lynn Yates, and mother, Mary Kay Yates.
James is survived by: Brother, Billy Brown and wife Vetta; sister, Tara Ford and Jason; nieces and nephews, Joanna, William, Kayla, Ralynn, Jaycie, Elizabeth, Jerrica and Bellany.

Carl Leon Stringfield, 79, of the Dutch Valley Community in Anderson County, passed away, Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at his home while surrounded by his family.
Mr. Stringfield was born Feb.1, 1939, in Morgan County. He was a lifelong resident of this area.
Carl was a member of Orchard View Baptist Church and was also the choir director. He loved yard work, reading, singing and most of all spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, Clifford Stringfield and Minnie Hamby Stringfield; brother, Edgar Stringfield; and sister, Yvonne Fairchild.
Carl is survived by: Wife of 58 years, Dorothy Brown Stringfield of Clinton; children, Michael Stringfield and wife Becky of Clinton, Marsha Renee Davis and husband Leonard of Maryville, Keith Stringfield and wife Joy of Clinton, and Scotty Stringfield of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Bradley, Kyle, and Cody Stringfield; step-grandchildren, Justin and Jamie Whitsett; great-grandsons, Greyson and Garrett Whitsett; brothers, Ernest Stringfield and wife Kay of Lancing, and Ronnie Stringfield and wife Lucy of King, N.C.; sister, Delilah Stringfield of Oak Ridge; sister-in-law, Betty Stringfield of Kinston, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends.

Gary Wayne Comer, 64, Lafollette, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
He loved his family and his dog, Lalya. Gary was a very caring person who would go out of his way to help someone else. He loved mechanic work. Gary was brilliant in building race cars and also collected diecast cars. He had a talent for art.
Gary was preceded in death by: Parents, George and Edith Comer; sisters, Brenda Marple, Debra Bolton and Patricia “Patty” L. Proffitt.
Gary is survived by: Son, the Rev. Wesley Comer and wife Brooke of Sheridan, Ind.; daughters, Terina Gillette and husband Danny of Knoxville, Natalie and Myra Heatherly of Jacksboro; companion, Pat Branam of Lafollette; sister, Valerie Fateley of Clinton; grandchildren, Hannah Gillette, Zion Gillette, Isaiah Comer, Emma Comer, Joel Comer, Eliza Comer, Adele Comer, Phineas Comer, Jaylynn Stooksbury and Isaac Stooksbury; stepchildren, Jamie Branam of Rocky Top, and Dewayne Branam of Rocky Top.
Gary also leaves behind several nieces and nephews that he treated as his own.

Artie Louise Wilson, 81, Caryville, made Heaven a whole lot sweeter on Oct. 23, 2018.
She was born July 18, 1937, to Fred and Armelda Lawson. She was a member of Ivy Grove Baptist Church in Caryville. She loved her family dearly with her whole heart. She enjoyed watching her great grandson kick and play. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Fred and Armelda Lawson; brother, Luther; and sisters, Dorothy and Alden Byrge.
Artie is survived by: Loving husband of 53 years, Odus Wilson; son, Dewayne of Caryville; daughters, Kim and Clyde of Caryville, Barbara Wilson of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Stephen Wilson of Caryville, Barton Taylor of Jacksboro, and Stephanie Wilson of Jacksboro; great-grandson, Jacob Patterson; sister, Nadine Wright of Jacksboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Wilma June Kennedy, 82, Lake City, passed away Oct. 21, 2018, at Parkwest Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 20, 1936, in Shea to the late Robert Paris Roxie Burris Ward. Wilma was a member of the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing, flowers, going to church, reading and spending time with her grandbabies.
Wilma was preceded in death by: Parents; husband, Jimmy Ray Kennedy; daughter, Sheila Ann Kennedy; sister, Wanda McKamey; and brother, Henry Ward.

Laura Holbrook, 90, passed away peacefully after a brief illness Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018.
She is survived by: Loving husband of 67 years, Richard “Dick” Holbrook; daughter, Kim
Williams (Rodney), daughter Katie Aloi (Tim), all of Clinton; three grandchildren, David Williams of
Chattanooga, Nicole Aloi (Steve Latour) of Pensacola, Fla., and Vince Aloi of Knoxville; one great-grandson, Dalton Williams; niece, Tanya Michelle Sidwell (Keith) of Crossville; and
beloved sister and brother-in-law, Tanya and Jim Thompson of Clinton.
Laura was active for more than 49 years in the family’s church, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Oak Ridge. She loved to volunteer in the schools and was involved in numerous community activities throughout the years. Laura enjoyed gardening, crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.
Laura was preceded in death by: Parents, Harold and Billie Ditchen; and brother, Harold “Buddy” Ditchen II.
Receiving of friends will begin at noon Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, followed by a 1 p.m. funeral in the Clinton Chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with burial to follow at Woodhaven in Claxton.
