Peggy Marlene Livesay, 85, went to be with the Lord May 6, 2021, at her home in Oak Ridge.
She was born Feb. 21, 1936 in Newton, Ill., the oldest child of Kenneth Harris and Ruth Kathaleen Warford Harris.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, and a sister, Sandra Harris.
Marlene is survived by: Husband of 68 years, Robert Douglas Livesay; daughter, Jill Anne Livesay Zockoll and son-in-law Brad Kent Zockoll, both of Oak Ridge; three grandchildren, Nicholas Robert Zockoll and granddaughter-in-law Alexis Shipley Zockoll, both of Greeneville; Peter Samuel Zockoll of Oregon, and Julianne Marlene Zockoll, living at home with her parents; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Bella, and John Zockoll, all living at home with their parents Nicholas and Alexis.
Marlene is also survived by: Brother, Larry Harris living in Mahomet, Ill.; sisters, Janet O'Banion living in Maryville, Pamela Stacy living in Johnstown, Penn., and Denise Harris of Liberty, N.C.
Marlene graduated from Unity High School at Tolono, Ill., and went on to attend secretarial school before working for Dowell Agricultural Specialists for 13 years, after which she held various jobs as she traveled around the country with Robert. Her interests were primarily family, church, sewing, reading, and camping.
A memorial service will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 1451 Bethel Valley Road, Oak Ridge, at 6 p.m. Friday, May 14, EST.
A graveside ceremony and burial will be held at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens (Glasgow Memorial Gardens), 1504 Happy Valley Road, Glasgow, Ky., at 11 a.m. CST Saturday, May 15, 2021.

Carl Douglas Bolling, 61, Oliver Springs, passed away peacefully in his home Thursday, May 6, 2021.
Carl was a United States Marine Corps veteran, a truck driver for more than 25 years, a loving husband, proud father and papaw. Carl was a hard-working man who made many sacrifices to see his family was always taken care of. He enjoyed many things in life but by far his favorite was being a papaw.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, Clayton and Alice Bolling of Deer Lodge; and grandson, Gentry Jackson.
He is survived by: Wife, Tammy Bolling; son, Christopher Bolling and wife Rachel of Clinton; daughter, Amber Jackson and husband Dennis of Harriman; granddaughters, Paisley and Stella Jackson; sister, Tina Hollingsworth and husband Charles of Oak Ridge; and many other special nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will have a celebration of life ceremony with military honors to follow, which will be publicly announced on a later date.

CHARLIE BEMJAMINE BURRIS

Charlie Benjamine Burris, Lake City, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021.
He was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Briceville/Anderson County.
He is survived by: Wife, Gloria Fay (Harmon) Burris of Lake City, who he married June 20, 1959; beloved son, B. Shane Burris; and the newest member of their family, his Maltipoo dog, Tyson Burris.
He was preceded in death by: Parents, John Spurgon and Lillie Isabelle (Seiber) Burris; sisters, Nora Mae Byrd, Elsie Phillips, and Ora Lee Roysden; brothers, Albert Glea Burris, Alvin McKinley Burris, and Condy Everette Burris.
He attended school at Seiber Flats and Briceville Elementary, and graduated from Lake City High School.
Ben entered into the United States Marine Corps, April 8, 1952. and discharged as Corporal (E-3), April 8, 1954, in Memphis. His tour of duties allowed him to travel all parts of the world while serving on USS Pittsburgh (CA-72)
He was employed with Union Carbide and Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc. for 36 years and listed today as Consolidated Nuclear Security LLC as a supervisor in Quality Service Division and retired June 30, 1992. After his retirement he was employed part-time for M.K. Ferguson, and (ETE) East TN Engineering, Inc., Oak Ridge, and finally retiring Oct. 7, 2016.
Ben was initiated as a member of Coal Creek Masonic Lodge 492, Lake City, on Jan. 19, 1960, and was a 61-year member. Ben had been a member of Lake City Jaycees, Lake City Optimist Club, and became an instructor in the Tennessee Hunter and Firearms Safety Program.
Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency awarded the Certificate of Excellence to Charlie B. Burris for outstanding contribution as an instructor in Tennessee Hunter Education Program. The International Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies and the National Rifle Association, Sept. 14, 1977, proclaimed the organization Number One in North America. He was an avid sportsman, and loved hunting, fishing, and 4-wheeling.
He was of the Baptist Faith and attended Clear Branch Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Briceville, and First Baptist Church in Lake City.
The family had a private graveside service at Grandview Memorial Garden.

Doris Faye Cooper, 76, Claxton, died Monday, May 3, 2021.
She was a member of Bishopville Baptist Church, Heiskell. Born Jan. 24, 1945, to parents Allen and Eloise Cooper in Knoxville. Faye spent much of her life residing in Claxton. Her love and devotion for working with kids, in many different capacities left a lasting impact on every child lucky enough to have been one of "her kids." Faye was a true giver, readily doing for others as much as she could. She truly adored spending time with her family. She took the opportunity to have special bonds with her nieces and nephews, she enjoyed teaching them crafts, baking, the art of storytelling and singing with them. Faye was naturally gifted with a beautiful voice, often singing church hymns and playing the piano. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, making crafts and baking. Her favorite role, after being mom to her son, Andy, was being a totally devoted, hands-on grandmother to her two cherished grandchildren, Ethan and Andrea. She always had a smile on her face, a song in her heart and the eagerness to do or care for others. She was clever, witty and delighted in making people laugh. She could often be heard saying, "If I go or if I stay, I'm a winner either way." She left this world a better place just for being in it. With her, there was no good-bye, she said, "I will see you on the bright side."
She was preceded in death by her parents. Allen and Eloise Cooper, Claxton.
She is survived by: Son, Andy and his wife Lindsay and her two grandchildren, Ethan and Andrea Cooper of Claxton; sisters, Jackie and caring brother-in-law Phil Herrell of Claxton, Nancy Mason of Rockford, and Kathy Cooper of Clinton; brother, Jimmy Cooper of Claxton; special nieces and nephews, Charles (Ashley) Herrell of Claxton, Lorien Smith of Clinton, Amy Mason of Rockford, Tommy (Angie) Herrell of Claxton, Spanky (Tracy) Smith of Clinton, Emily Mason of Rockford, Kristen (Joey) Collins of Knoxville, and Allen Cooper of Rocky Top; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, extended Maner and Cooper family members, as well as all of the children she claimed as "Her kids."
Services were Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Jones Mortuary, 375 N. Main Street Clinton, with receiving friends from 11 a.m. – noon. Memorial service followed with Pastor Phil Poe officiating.

HOWARD N. CHESBRO

Howard N. Chesbro, 89, Clinton, passed away from cancer May 1, 2021, at the Water’s Nursing Home in Clinton.
He was born on May 30, 1931, in Noank, Conn., to Leroy and Minnie Tanner Chesbro. Howard was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Clinton. He graduated from Robert E. Fitch High School in 1949 Groton, Conn., then enlisted in United States Air Force and served in Korea as a radio operator and continued as a missile tech for 16 years. He was employed by U.S. Naval Underwater Sound Laboratory in New London, Conn., as a surface ship sonar technician prior to retiring in 1986. Howard was single and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.His hobbies were puzzles and coloring. Howard resided recently at Meadow View Assisted Living in Clinton, prior to going to the nursing home.
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by: Sister-in-law, Mary Chesbro; and great-niece, Kristy N. Morgan.
Survived by: Brothers, Richard P. Chesbro, Leroy N. Chesbro and wife Nancy; nieces, Teresa Robinson, Pamela DiPasquale and Ronda G.Chesbro; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friend.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 5 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the service to follow at 5 p.m. with the Dr. Darryl Taylor officiating.

Hazel Ruth Dabney, 79, Oliver Springs, passed away, Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Hazel was born Nov. 4, 1941, in Lafollette. She was a lifelong resident of this area. She enjoyed watching Pastor Garvan Walls of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and listening to the choir of Beech Park Baptist Church. Hazel also enjoyed reading, crocheting, fishing, camping, and most importantly spending time with her family and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by: Mother and father, William and Mary Dabney; brothers, William Paul Dabney Sr., Robert Glenn Dabney Sr., and Raymond Dabney; sister, Mary Katherine Golden; by son-in-law, Fred Holbert; nephew, William Paul Dabney Jr.; friend, Lannie Phillips.
Hazel is survived by: Children, Gary Boshears (Wendy) of Frost Bottom, Barbara Holbert of Maryville, Michelle Loveday of Oliver Springs, and Kristi Loveday Dooley (Todd) of Clinton; step-sons, Chuck Wilson and Jim Wilson both of Clinton; by grandchildren, Jonathan Boshears, Amanda Seivers, Ashley Fairfield-Murr (Justin), Michael Nelson, Chelsey Avila (Carlos), Kelly Boshears, Holly Boshears, and Jacob Dooley; great-grandchildren, Colton Lambert, Connor Lambert, Corbin Lambert, Raigan Boshears, Sarah Boshears, Jeremiah Boshears, Kopelynn Boshears, Claudiea Boshears, Emerson Fox, Iris Murr, Layla Avila, and Legend Avila; sisters-in-law, Mary Katherine Dabney and Dorothy Dabney both of Clinton; sister, Connie Hightower; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family received friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Premier Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs.
The funeral followed at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robbie Leach officiating.
Burial and graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

DONALD 'DON' WAYNE CALHOUN

Donald “Don” Wayne Calhoun, 78, Clinton passed away April 29, 2021.
Don was born in Kingsport July 5, 1943, to Echol Ellis and Emma Bell Lane Calhoun. After graduating from Blountville High School he attended Lincoln Memorial University, where he graduated with a degree in history. It was there that he met the love of his life, Margaret Ann Hammer. They married and shared 56 cherished years together.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he began his career with Travelers Insurance in Knoxville prior to joining his wife’s family business, Hammer’s Department Store. He retired after 30-plus years with the business. An active member of the community, he coached youth baseball and basketball for many years. Some may remember Don from his days announcing high school basketball, baseball and football on WYSH radio for many years with Charlie Phillips.
He was also a Western movie enthusiast, and for many years he played “Deadwood Don” on the PBS show, “Riders of the Silver Screen.” He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a loving and devoted grandfather.
Don was preceded in death by: Wife, Margaret Ann Calhoun; father and mother, Echol Ellis and Emma Bell Lane Calhoun; brother, Edgar Calhoun; sister, Edith Hayter; brother-in-law, Don Latture; and brother-in-law, Jeff Hammer.
He is survived by: Son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Tanya Calhoun; grandsons, Harrison and Matthew Calhoun; brother, Glen Calhoun and his wife Kay; sister, Betty Latture; brother-in-law, Roy Hayter; sister-in-law, Billie Calhoun; sister-in-law, Billie Sue Hammer; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Alvin and Diane Taylor.
The family held a graveside service at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2021, at Grandview Memorial Garden in Clinton with Pastor Mike Thompson officiating.

Lillian “Jean” Haynes, 84, Powell, passed away at her home April 29, 2021.
Jean worked in the Quality Control Division of Amendt Milling Company. She was a member of Covenant Life Church. She enjoyed being involved in church groups and activities including the Kitchen Team and the Ladies Auxiliary. Jean was a great cook. Jean loved her family and spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by: Father, Sam Carson Mabe, and mother, Minnie Pope Mabe.
She was also preceded in death by: Brother, Charles Mabe; sisters, Betty Lindsay, Florence Treece, and Mary Lanham.
Jean is survived by: Husband, Jerry C. Haynes of Powell; son, Robert (Bob) Haynes (Linda) of Chattanooga; daughter, Cyndi McAfee (Tony) of Andersonville; sister, Brenda Ratliff of Indiana; grandchildren, Jody Yother (Josh), McKenzie Sneij (Eli), Mariah Sweat (Wesley); great-grandchildren, Alexis Yother, Madison Yother, Peyton Yother, Mila Sneij, Selah Mac Sneij.
