4-H public speaking winners


Eight hundred and thirty-six youth competed in this year’s Anderson County 4-H Public Speaking Contest. With such tight competition, just being chosen to represent Anderson County at the Great Northwest 4-H Public Speaking Contest was a major accomplishment. The five youth chosen were, from left: Alexandra Stroud, Kristina Gregg, Saylor Hutcheson, Jackson McMurray, and Helen Wagner. Anderson County 4-H’ers claimed numerous awards during the Great Northwest competition, which was held in Harriman, Tennessee on February 23. Special honors earned during the competition included 1st place – Helen Wagner (8th grade division), 1st place – Kristina Gregg (6th grade division), 2nd place – Alexandra Stroud (7th grade division) and 3rd place
