Sheep shearing at the museum


John Cooper, a farmer from Monticello, Ky., is pictured shearing the wool off a sheep during a demonstration — one of several demonstrations Cooper did — on Friday, April 21, at the Museum of Appalachia’s annual sheep shearing day event. More than 600 students — public, private, and homeschooled — attended the event on Friday, said President of Museum of Appalachia Elaine Meyer, one of the event organizers.
