Lady Mavs track wins meet

Anderson County Lady Mavs’ sophomore Brittany Bishop finished sixth at the TSSAA AAA Section 1 Pentathlon held at Morristown West High School on Monday, April 24. The venue was the State qualifier for the Pentathlon, a competition consisting of the 100 meter hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put and 800 meter run.

The top two finishers and the next best four at large scores advance to the State Championship meet in Murfreesboro. While Brittany did not automatically qualify, she did score the first points for the Lady Mavs in the TSSAA Sectional Championship to be held on Saturday, May 13 at Hardin Valley Academy.

Also competing for the Lady Mavs at the Pentathlon completion was a pair of freshmen, Mackensi Crumley and Brookelyn Housley. The freshmen finished 23rd and 24th respectively and gained invaluable experience in the competition.

After storms postponed the original date of the Dale Legg Invitational at Anderson County High School, the meet was held Tuesday.

The Lady Mavs’ Brittany Bishop won the girls 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.57. Teammate Sydney McCreary took fourth place with a time of 16.55.

In the girls 100 meter dash, Bishop finished sixth with a time of 13.33 while teammate Rillie Wax was 15th with a time of 14.13. Grace Schrider of Clinton High School took 17th with a time of 14.41 and teammate Ashley Bunch was 19th with a time of 15.72.

In the girls 1100 meter run, Maddy Moody of ACHS came in first with a time of 5:31.72. Kaylee Puleo of CHS finished sixth (7:37.73) while teammate Summer Schrider came in seventh (7:58.10).

In the girls 200 meter dash, Brynn Biddle of CHS was 14th with a time of 31.33. Katie Brooks of ACHS was 15th with a time of 32.31.

Maddy Moody (ACHS) finished second in the girls 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.37. Emma Schrider (CHS) was 10th with a time of 1:06.96. Megan Kiehl (ACHS) was 14th with a time of 1:11.77.

The ACHS team of Brittany Bishop, Sydney McCreary, Katie Brooks, Rillie Wax, Mackensi Crumley, and Brooke Housley took seventh in the girls 4x100 relay with a time of 56.12. The CHS team of Brittany Creasman, Brynn Biddle, Madison Marsee, and Grace Schrider was ninth with a time of 56.91.

The Lady Mavs’ team of Brittany Bishop, Sydney McCreary, Katie Brooks, Rillie Wax, Mackensi Crumley, and Brooke Housley took fourth in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:56.97. The CHS team of Isabella Vibbert, Brynn Biddle, Brittany Creasman, and Lily Taylor was fifth with a time of 1:57.46.

The ACHS team of Brittany Bishop, Maddie Moody, Jessica Meredith, Mollie Longmire, Sydney McCreary, Megan Kiehl, Katie Woodward, and Brooke Housley was second in the girls 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:32.12.

The CHS team of Madison Marsee, Summer Seiber, Kaylee Puleo, and Charity Braswell took second in the girls 4x800 meter relay with a time of 11:56.54. The Lady Mavs’ team of Brittany Bishop, Maddie Moody, Jessica Meredith, Mollie Longmire, Sydney McCreary, Megan Kiehl, Katie Woodward, and Brooke Housley took third with a time of 12:02.59.

Maddy Moody of ACHS won the girls 800 meter run with a time of 2:29.88. Teammate Mollie Longmire took third with a time of 2:36.11. The Lady Dragons’ Charity Braswell was ninth with a time of 3:01.31. Teammate Summer Seiber was 12th with a time of 3:30.70.

In the girls discus throw, the Lady Mavs’ Taylor Foust was seventh with a distance of 70-00.00. The Lady Dragons’ Jessica Jordan was 11th with a throw of 61-03.00. Teammate Kenzie Howard was 14th with a distance of 47-02.00. Rachel Brock of ACHS was 15th with a distance of 46-03.00.

Jessica Meredith of ACHS was fifth in the girls high jump with a jump of 4-06.00. Teammate Kaylee Castleberry was seventh with a jump of 4-02.00.

Mackensi Crumley of ACHS was second in the girls long jump with a distance of 14-06.00. The Lady Dragons’ Madison Marsee finished 11th with a distance of 13-01.75. Rillie Wax of ACHS was 12th with a distance of 11-10.75.

The Lady Mavs’ Brittany Bishop won the girls pole vault with a vault of 11-00.00. Teammate Brandi Duff was second with a vault of 9-06.00.

Taylor Foust (ACHS) finished sixth in the girls shot put with a distance of 27-06.25. Isabella Vibbert of CHS was 12th with a distance of 22-11.00. Chelsi Meredith of ACHS was 13th with a distance of 21-10.00.

In the girls triple jump, Sydney McCreary (ACHS) was fifth with a distance of 29-11.75. Teammate Jessica Meredith was eighth with a distance of 28-02.75.

In the boys 100 meter dash, Jordan Braden (ACHS) was 13th with a time of 12.07. Talha Asad of CHS was 18th with a time of 13.11 while teammate Chris Langston was 21st with a time of 13.57.

Parker Fulton of ACHS took second in the boys 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.75.

Kirby Logan of ACHS was fourth in the boys 1600 meter run with a time of 4:57.51. James Bigler of CHS was 13th with a time of 5:47.02 while teammate Daniel Cantillion was 16th with a time of 6:25.86.

In the boys 200 meter dash, Jonathan Hughes of ACHS was 10th with a time of 24.33. Talha Asad of CHS was 19th with a time of 27.09 while teammate Chris Langston was 21st with a time of 28.23.

Parker Fulton (ACHS) was third in the boys 300 meter hurdles with a time of 45.12.

The Mavericks’ Micah Sawyer was third in the boys 3200 meter run with a time of 11:14.86.

Jonathan Hughes (ACHS) was second in the boys 400 meter dash with a time of 52.60. Teammate Jordan Braden was sixth with a time of 54.93. Clinton’s Jacob Manning was 16th with a time of 58.49 while teammate William Massengill was 21st with a time of 1:06.89.

The ACHS team was seventh in the boys 4x100 meter relay with a time of 51.22. Individual names were not posted with relay results.

In the boys 4x200 meter relay, the CHS team of Mossy Taylor, Anthony Krause, Luke Youngblood, and Anthony Cagle was 11ith with a time of 1:45.81. The ACHS team was 13th with a time of 2:02.80.

In the boys 4x400 meter relay, the ACHS team was fifth with a time of 9:40.71. The CHS team of Talha Asad, Chris Langston, Ethan Massengill, and Steve Jordan was seventh with a time of 10:43.42.

In the boys 800 meter run, Parker Owens of ACHS was fifth with a time of 2:18.71. Teammate Harrison Ogburn was sixth with a time of 2:20.00. Clinton’s James Bigler was 11th with a time of 2:41.05 while teammate Ethan Fedesco was 12th with a time of 3:05.83.

Andrew Olson of CHS was seventh in the boys discus throw with a distance of 108-11.00. Joseph Randolph of ACHS was ninth with a distance of 98-10.00 while teammate Wyatt Hull was 10th with a distance of 97-00.00. Josh Durr of CHS was 15th with a distance of 80-10.00.

Parker Fulton (ACHS) was second in the boys long jump with a distance of 21-00.75. Jacob Manning of CHS was 15th with a distance of 16-06.75. Jacob Meares of ACHS was 19th with a distance of 10-04.50.

In the boys pole vault, Harrison Ogburn of ACHS was fifth with a distance of 9-00.00. Teammate Grant Hayes was sixth with a distance of 6-06.00.

Josh Durr (CHS) was sixth in the boys shot put with a distance of 35-10.00. Joseph Randolph of ACHS was seventh with a distance of 35-10.00 while teammate Cole Dark was 12th with a distance of 43-8.50. Andrew Olson of CHS was 16th with a distance of 31-00.00.

Parker Fulton of ACHS was second in the boys triple jump with a distance of 37-05.00. Teammate Grant Hayes was seventh with a distance of 35-03.75.

The Lady Mavs were the team winners at a nine-team track and field meet at Catholic High School on Thursday, April 27 easily outdistancing second place finisher Christian Academy Of Knoxville 177 to 110.

Lady Mavs sophomore Brittany Bishop won both the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.92 and the pole vault with a vault of 11’. Brittany also finished fourth in the 100 meters (13.52).

Senior Sydney McCreary won the triple jump (29’2”), finished second in the 100 meter hurdles (18.19) and added a seventh in the 100 meters (13.97).

Freshman Mackensi Crumley won the long jump with a leap of 14’2”, finished fifth in the 100 meter hurdles (19.76) and finished third in the 300 meter hurdles (56.46).

Freshman Brookley Housley won the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 54.94 and sophomore Kaylee Castleberry was sixth (1:08.40). Kaylee added a fourth in the high jump with a PR jump of 4’4”.

Senior Brandi Duff added a second in the pole vault with a mark of 9’.

The 4 x 200 relay team of Housley, Crumley, sophomores Castleberry, and Rillie Wax finish second (2:02.31) and the 4 x 100 relay team of Housley, Wax, Brooks, and McCreary also finish second in 54.54.

Senior Katie Brooks was third in the 100 meter hurdles (19.19).

Junior Taylor Foust tacked on a third in the shot put (26’ 01”) and a second in the discus (74”).

Rillie Wax was third in the long jump (13’2”) and Sarah Freeborn sixth (9’2”).

Sophomore Maddy Moody was fourth in both the 1600 meters (5:36.67) and in the 800 meters with a PR time of 2:25.83.

Sophomore Jessica Meredith was fourth in 400 meters (1:10.42), second in triple jump (28’3”) and a third in the high jump (4’6”).

The 4 x 4000 meter relay team of Meredith, Housley, Longmire and Moody was fourth 4:39.94.
