Lady Mavs win meet at Lenoir City
The Anderson County Lady Mavs were the team winner at a 10-team track and field meet held at Lenoir City High School on Tuesday, May 2.
Lady Mavs sophomore Maddy Moody was a winner in all four events she was entered in, taking the individual 1600 meters in 5:36.46 and the 800 meters in a PR time of 2:25.30.
Moody also teamed with sophomores Jessica Meredith and Mollie Longmire and freshman Brooklyn Housley to win the 4 x 800 meter relay (11:19.53) and later along with the 4 x 4000 meter relay team of Mollie Longmire and freshmen Megan Kiehl and Brooklyn Housley to win the event in a time of 4:33.70. Longmire added a third in the 800 meters (2:36.14).
Sophomore Brittany Bishop won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.47seconds, finished second in the 300 hurdles (50.67) and teamed with seniors Sydney McCreary and Katie Brooks and sophomore Rillie Wax to win the 4 x100 meter relay in a time of 54.19 seconds.
In her first attempt at the event, freshman Mackensi Crumley won the triple jump with a leap of 29’2” and also finished second in the long jump (14’0.5”).
Sophomore Jessica Meredith won the high jump with a mark of 4’6” and was sixth in the 400 meters (1:11.94).
Junior Taylor Foust finished second in both the shot put (25’07”) and the discus (77’06.5”).
Sophomores Rillie Wax and Kaylee Castleberry along with freshmen Brooklyn Housley and Megan Kiehl were third in the 4x200 meter relay (2:01.63).
Senior Chelsi Meredith was fourth in the shot put (21’09.5”) and fifth in the discus (49’02”).
Junior Rachel Brock was fourth in the shot put (19’10.25”) and eighth in the discus (39’10.5”).
Brooklyn Housley was fourth in 300 hurdles (55.86) and Mackensi Crumley fifth (56.28).
Senior Katie Brooks was seventh in the 100 meter hurdles (20.35).
Rillie Wax was eighth in the long jump (11’6.5”) and fifth in the 100 meter dash in a time of 14.38 seconds.
Clinton’s Madison Marsee was seventh in long jump with a distance of 12’07.50”.
In girls shot put, the Lady Dragons’ Haiden Reed was ninth with a distance of 14’03”.
In girls discus throw, Clinton’s Jessica Jordan was fourth with a throw of 57’06”. Teammates Kenzie Howard (47’01”) and Kyndal Reed (35’01.50”) finished sixth and ninth respectively.
The Clinton team of Brynn Biddle, Brittany Creasman, Madison Marsee, and Grace Schrider took second in the girls 4 x 100M relay with a time of 57.67.
The Lady Dragons’ Grace Schrider was sixth in the girls 100M dash with a time of 14.50.
Summer Seiber of Clinton was sixth in the girls 1600M run with a time of 7:56.32.
In the girls 4 x 200M relay, the Lady Dragons’ finished second thanks to the team of Brynn Biddle, Brittany Creasman, Lily Taylor, and Isabella Vibbert. Their time was 1:58.72.
Taylor also took second in the girls 400M dash with a time of 1:08.93. Teammates Emma Schrider (1:09.35) and Charity Braswell (1:09.36) finished third and fourth respectively.
Vibbert was fourth in the girls 800M run with a time of 2:37.95.
Creasman was third in the girls 200M dash with a time of 29.22. Biddle was sixth with a time of 31.18 and Ashley Bunch was eighth with a time of 31.91.
Clinton was second in the girls 4 x 400M relay thanks to the team of Charity Braswell, Madison Marsee, Kaylee Puleo, and Summer Seiber, who finished with a time of 4:41.97.
Anderson County’s next meet will be the AAA Sectional 1 Championship at Hardin Valley Academy on Saturday, May 13. The meet is the qualifier for the State Championship with the first four finishers in each event automatically qualifying for the State competition.

On the boys side, the Mavericks won the event.
In boys long jump, Anderson County’s Harrison Ogburn was third with a distance of 16’03.25”. Jacob Manning of Clinton was fifth with a distance of 15’10” and teammate Mossy Taylor was sixth with a distance 15’05”.
In the boys shot put, Cole Dark and Joseph Randolph of ACHS tied for third with a distance of 34’01.50”. Teammate Wyatt Hull was fifth with a distance of 32’10.50”.
Hull took third in discus with a throw of 0’10.50”. Clinton’s Andrew Olson was fourth with a distance of 83’04”. Joseph Randolph of ACHS was fifth (83’03.50) and teammate Devin Alvarez was sixth (81’04”). Clinton’s Jonathan James was 10th with a throw of 69’06”.
Logan Prater of Clinton was third in the boys 3200M run with a time of 13:19.08. Teammates Daniel Cantillion was sixth (14:50.75) and Ben Braswell was seventh (15:12.40).
The Dragons team of Anthony Cagle, Anthony Krause, Mossy Taylor, and Luke Youngblood took second in the 4 x 100M relay with a time of 51.49.
The ACHS squad of Devin Alvarez, Matthew Bass, Wyatt Hull, and Joseph Randolph was seventh with a time of 56.83.
The Clinton team of Lee Collier, Luke Collier, Ethan Fedesco, and Stephan Jordan finished second in the boys 4 x 800M relay with a time of 11:23.79.
Anderson County’s Parker Fulton was third in the boys 100M dash with a time of 11.89. Teammate Jordan Braden was ninth with a time of 12.52. Fulton also took fourth in the boys 400M dash (55.18) while teammate Parker Owens was 10th with a time of 58.32. Fulton finished second in the boys 200M dash with a time of 23.02. Teammate Harrison Ogburn was fourth with a time of 25.47.
The Mavericks’ Kirby Logan was second in the boys 1600M run with a time of 4:57.53. Teammates Micah Sawyer was third (5:04.01) and Parker Owens was eighth (5:13.85).
In the boys 4 x 200M relay, the Clinton foursome of Anthony Cagle, Anthony Krause, Mossy Taylor, and Luke Youngblood was fourth with a time of 1:47.53.
Anderson County’s Grant Hayes won the boys 300M hurdles with a time of 43.59.
The Mavericks’ Jonathan Hughes won the boys 800M run with a time of 2:06.69. Teammate Kirby Logan was fourth with a time of 2:16.53. James Bigler of Clinton was seventh with a time of 2:28.34.
Anderson County won the boys 4 x 400M relay as the team of Jordan Braden, Grant Hayes, Jonathan Huges, and Harrison Ogburn turned in a time of 3:37.73.
The Clinton team of Talha Asad, Stephan Jordan, Chris Langston, and William Massengill was fourth with a time of 4:22.57
