Oliver Springs man faces ‘exploitation rape of minor’ charges

A 42-year-old Oliver Springs man has been charged with seven counts of rape and four counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

Authorities initially learned of the accusations made against Brian J. Seeber on March 6, 2017, when the victim, a member of Seeber’s household, first reported the incidents to police.

A media release sent from the Clinton Police Department on Thursday, June 8, confirms that since the time the incident was first reported in March, the victim has been residing in a safe location and has had no further contact with Seeber.

The media release further states that the charges are in connection with incidents that occurred between August 2015 and February 2017—incidents involving the possible rape of a juvenile.

At approximately 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, CPD officers arrested Seeber at his residence in Oliver Springs and transported him to the Anderson County Detention Facility without incident.

“Detective Leslie Miller and the C.I.D. (Criminal Investigations Division) team put a lot of time and effort into getting this arrest. Our department takes all cases seriously, but when the safety of a juvenile is compromised, our officers go above and beyond to make sure the offender is brought to justice,” stated Clinton Police Chief Rick Scarbrough, in the press release.

Seeber is currently being held at the Anderson County Detention Facility on a $750,000 bond.
