Northview Academy 35

Oliver Springs 7

The Northview Academy Cougars came to Oliver Springs Friday night and beat the Bobcats 35-7.

The Cougars controlled the game from start to finish. They led 22-0 at the half but Oliver Springs did manage a fourth quarter touchdown when sophomore quarterback Blake Crass threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to senior Sean Ross.

Zach Brooks kicked the extra point.

The Bobcats amassed 171 yards rushing in the game but it was not nearly enough to overcome the Northview offensive onslaught.

The Bobcats fall to 0-3 for the season and will visit Greenback on Friday for a big Region 2-1A game.



Campbell County 28

Morristown East 3

The Campbell County Cougars traveled to Morristown East on Friday and throttled the Hurricanes 28-3.

Senior quarterback Zach Rutherford finished 30-41 for 327 yards and three touchdowns.

Shawn Marcum caught seven passes for 134 yards while Junior Preston Bowman had 11 receptions for 121 yards.

Senior Elijah Phillips caught five passes for 61 yards and two touchdowns.

Junior Logan Berry had six catches for 29 yards and a score.

Junior Riley Wallace was 4-4 on extra point attempts.

Defensively, junior Drew Jordan led the Cougars with 12 tackles, including one for a loss. Junior Eric Hopper had eight tackles, including a sack and a tackle for loss.

Seniors Bryce Trentham and Gary Seibers each had seven tackles.

Senior Christian England had an interception.

The Cougars (3-1) will host Gibbs on Friday in a non-region game.



Powell 21

Karns 19

The Powell Panthers won the “Battle of Beaver Creek” as they won at Karns on Friday by a score of 21-19.

Sophomore quarterback Walker Trusley helped pace the offense with a performance of 20-30 for 257 yards and a touchdown.

Sophomore Bailor Walker rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. He also had four receptions for 35 yards.

Sophomore Eli Owens had 36 yards on six carries while Spencer Miracle had two receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown.

Senior David Robbins and junior Riley Bryant each had eight tackles to lead the Panthers.

Powell (3-1, 1-1 in the region) will host Clinton on Friday in a key Region 3-5A matchup.



Oak Ridge 0

Farragut 41

The Farragut Admirals beat visiting Oak Ridge 41-0 on Friday night, marking the first time the Wildcats have been shut out since 1993.

The Oak Ridge defense held the defending state 5A champions to seven points in each of the first two quarters but the Admirals offense proved to be too much in the second half as they added another 27 for the big win.

The Wildcats (2-2, 1-0 in Region 3-5A) step back into region action when they host Knoxville West (3-1, 1-0 in region play) on Friday.
