Lake City Middle School wins District II Championship again

Lake City Middle School won their second consecutive District II Small Schools title, giving the school a total of four district titles in five years.

The team won three games on the same day, defeating Norwood, Harriman, and then capping the day off with a win over Elk Valley.

The Lakers were able to dominate with stellar serving and solid floor play in what was truly a great team effort.

The wins were solidified by strong hitting from All Tournament players, (Team Captain) Eden Fuller and Lily Yassu.

Team Captain Gracie Cooper was awarded the All-District trophy for her consistent setting and serving throughout the season as well.

The Lady Lakers move on to the sectional tournament this Saturday (Sept. 30) at Clinton Middle School.

The season’s end is approaching, but most of their competitive group of girls will then be returning next fall for what should be another strong performance.
