Clinton Volleyball defeats Grainger for district win
The Clinton Dragons’ Volleyball team won a huge home district match over Grainger last Tuesday evening.
The Dragons won in five sets, taking three sets by scores of 29-27, 25-18, and 15-12. They dropped two sets by scores of 25-23 and 28-26.
“Our girls played together and worked hard for this win,” said Clinton Head Coach Susan Zellner.
Senior Kindrix Bean had 16 points (eight aces), six kills, and three digs.
Senior Priscilla Powers had 20 points (six aces), nine kills, and two digs.
Sophomore Makenzie McNeal finished with seven points (four aces), 13 kills, one assist, and 12 digs.
Junior Madison Lambert had five points (one ace), one kill, 49 assists, and eight digs.
The Dragons will host their annual PINK NIGHT festivities on Thursday at 6 p.m. The purpose of PINK NIGHT is to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness as well as celebrating survivors and remembering those lost to the disease.
Everyone is invited for a great night of volleyball matches involving Clinton, Lenoir City, Halls, and Karns.
There will also be a silent auction, door prizes, and more.
Clinton will open play in the district tournament next Tuesday at Anderson County High School.
Time and opponent is yet to be determined.
