Lady Wildcats number one seed in district tournament
The 15th-Ranked Oak Ridge Lady Wildcats Volleyball team finished 1-2 in the Courtside at Concord Round-Robin tournament on Saturday at Concord Christian.
“We played well, just not well enough to get the job done,” said Head Coach David Kolodney referring to the losses to Signal Mountain and Concord Christian.
The ‘Cats previously faced Signal Mountain at the Showdown at the Sunsphere Tournament and beat them in a close three set match.
At Concord, the Lady Eagles edged the Lady ‘Cats in a similarly close match. Oak Ridge dropped a two-set match to the host Concord Christian, but was able to avenge Monday's loss to Heritage.
“We are looking forward to districts and the run to the State Tournament,” continued Kolodney. “These next few weeks are what we’ve been working for since July and the girls are primed and ready.”
The Lady ‘Cats enter the District tournament as the number one seed and earned a Quarterfinal bye.
They were scheduled to play the winner of Campbell County/Halls match on Tuesday night at the Wildcat Arena.
The semi-final was scheduled at 6:30 p.m. with the District Championship scheduled for 8 p.m.
The Lady 'Cats entered the District Tournament with a 22-9 (6-0 District) record. Final Regular Season AAA District 4 Standings:
