The Oliver Springs Bobcats picked up another region win on Friday night with a 42-0 victory at Oakdale.
The Bobcats opened scoring with a seven-yard touchdown run by junior Mason Hill.
Junior Zach Brooks kicked the extra point to give Oliver Springs the 7-0 lead with 5:16 left in the first quarter.
The Bobcats added another score with 12.1 seconds remaining in the quarter when sophomore quarterback Blake Crass ran it in from the one-yard line.
The Brooks PAT made it a 14-0 Oliver Springs lead.
In the second quarter, senior Garrett Wilson torched the Eagles’ defense on a 65-yard touchdown reception from Crass.
Brooks added the extra point and the Bobcats led 21-0 with 10:16 left in the first half.
Later in the quarter, Hill returned a punt 38 yards for a touchdown.
Brooks kicked the PAT to make it a 28-0 Oliver Springs lead at the half.
The Bobcats opened the second half with a scoring drive, which was capped by a one-yard touchdown run by junior Matt McGhee.
Brooks kicked the extra point to extend the lead to 35-0 with 10:10 left in the third quarter. It also put the game in a continuous clock.
With 2:29 left in the quarter, McGhee scored again, this time on a five-yard run.
Brooks added the PAT and the Bobcats went up 42-0.
There was no more scoring after that touchdown and extra point.
Hill finished with 94 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. He also had a touchdown on a punt return.
Crass finished 6-8 for 90 yards and a touchdown. He also a rushing touchdown.
Defensively, sophomore Lane Lee led Oliver Springs with nine tackles and a fumble recovery.
Sophomore Trey Boswell had eight tackles and senior Sean Ross had four tackles and an interception.
The Bobcats improve to 3-5 overall and 3-1 in Region 2-1A while the Eagles fall to 2-6 overall, 0-4 in region action.
Oliver Springs will host region power Coalfield (7-1) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Fulton 44
Campbell Co. 14
It was a long night for the Campbell County Cougars as the visiting Fulton Falcons won 44-14.
Campbell County senior quarterback Zach Rutherford finished 23-43 for 212 yards and two touchdowns.
Shawn Marcum led the Cougars with 10 receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Byrce Trentham led Campbell County with seven tackles while Elijah Phillips. Logan Berry, and Alex Gross eacg had five tackles while Javan McCulley had five tackles and two sacks.
The Cougars fall to 6-2 overall and 2-2 in Region 3-5A while the Falcons move to 7-1 overall, 4-0 in the region.
Campbell County will visit Clinton (2-6, 0-4) on Friday while Fulton will host Knoxville West (5-3, 3-1).
Kick-off for both games is set for 7:30 p.m.
Powell enjoyed a bye last week. They return to action when they host region rival Oak Ridge (6-2, 4-0) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
