Lady Mavs devastate Karns
The Anderson County Lady Mavericks found the tonic to their recent scoring woes in the form of visiting Karns on Tuesday evening.
The Lady Mavs romped to a 67-13 win over the Lady Beavers.
Anderson County took a huge 19-2 lead in the first quarter behind the scoring of Brooklin McCoy, Maci Houser, Tea` Hickson, and Hannah Freeman.
The Anderson County defense held Karns to just two points in the second quarter as Cameron Castleberry and Ashlynn Phillips got in on the scoring as the Lady Mavs built a 34-4 halftime lead.
Already a rout in the third quarter, Juliann Smith and Callie Bowling joined in the scoring column as the Anderson County lead grew to 48-10.
The Lady Mavs finished strong outscoring Karns 19-3, as Mollie Longmire got into the scoring column with a couple of baskets.
McCoy led all scorers with 16 points while Houser had 12 and Freeman scored 10.
The home game with Campbell County scheduled for last Friday was postponed due to weather (Campbell County was unable to travel). The game will be made up on Saturday, Feb. 10.
The Lady Mavs will host Clinton on Friday and travel to Halls on Tuesday.
Tip-off for each game is 6 p.m.
