Clinton City rates A1 rating from Moody’s
On March 1, 2018, Moody’s Investors Service assigned an initial issuer rating of A1 to the City of Clinton.
The assignment of the A1 rating reflects, among other things, the city’s very strong financial position and low debt burden.
This is the city’s highest issuer rating in more than 15 years.
The city’s 2017 audit demonstrates the city’s strong financial position. City Council continues to emphasize the importance of debt management and conservative spending while also continuing to focus on improving the city’s infrastructure, facilities, and services.
While Clinton continues to maintain a healthy fund balance, the city has funded several capital projects such as renovations to Jaycee Park, street resurfacing, and public safety vehicles and equipment.
