Oliver Springs Historical Society luncheon
The ladies of the Oliver Springs Historical Society have set Saturday, April 28 for their second annual luncheon which will be held at the DAV building. Beautifully decorated tables and delicious food await guests.
This year’s speaker is Marilyn Calfee. Marilyn, who is accomplished in her own right, is also the wife of State Rep. Kent Calfee. Special music will be provided by Carmen Turner, daughter of the Rev. Jonathan Turner, the new pastor of Oliver Springs Church of God of Prophecy. Sharon McChesney will demonstrate her skill in creating her beautiful wreaths.
This year members are privileged to honor Clara Hughes, one of the most involved, active, and loyal members. Miss Clara at 97 years of age can work rings around many who might be half her age.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by contacting any member.
They are also on sale at Harvey’s Furniture Store. Proceeds go to the continued restoration projects.
