ACHS trio headed to state track meet

A trio of track athletes from Anderson County High School are headed to the TSSAA Division I Large School State Championship on Thursday.

The meet will be held on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.

Junior Brittany Bishop is ranked number one in the state in the pole vault with a jump of 12’4 ”.

Unbeaten in the event in 2017 and thus far this year, she is defending the state championship she won in pole vault last spring.

This year she is going after the state record of 12’7” while attempting to defend her state championship.

Bishop is also ranked seventh in the state in 100 Meter hurdles with a time of 15.32 (best time entered in the event this year is 14.10).  

Junior Maddie Moody is ranked fifth in the 1600 Meter run with a time of 5:09.99. The first place time is 5:01.

Last year, she placed eighth in the state meet with a time of 5:23.00.

Moody is also ranked fifth in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 11:23. The best time entered this year to date is 10:50.60. 

Senior Parker Fulton will close out his high school career with his first ever bid at the state championship.

He is ranked 12th out of 16 athletes with a long jump of 21’ 4” and has won several meets this season.
