‘A night of champions’ with Josh Dobbs

“A Night of Champions” featuring former University of Tennessee and current Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Joshua Dobbs will take place Wednesday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Clinton.

Dobbs is one of the most visible and successful UT quarterbacks in recent memory. He was known as one of the most intelligent (aerospace engineering major) and likeable players in college football.

His senior year he racked up 2,946 yards and 27 touchdowns through the air and 831 yards with 12 scores on the ground.

Dobbs started all 13 games for the first time in his career as a junior (2,291 yards, 15 touchdowns, five interceptions passing; 671 yards, 11 rushing touchdowns), which followed a strong sophomore campaign in which he was named the TaxSlayer.com Bowl MVP after accumulating 205 yards of offense and three scores against Iowa.

The University of Tennessee presented Dobbs with the 2017 Torchbearer Award, the highest honor for an undergraduate student, which recognizes accomplishments in the community and academics. Dobbs was heralded as possessing a 4.0 GPA and being named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

In April 2017, Dobbs was drafted in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the Steelers. He was the seventh quarterback drafted overall that year.

Those in attendance on July 18 will get a glimpse into the life of the UT legend.

The event will also include a time of fellowship with fellow college football fans.
