Murphy retiring from city
Long standing Director of Public Works for Clinton, Lynn Murphy, is retiring on July 7.
Murphy served as the Public works Director since May 1, 2000 and his career in public service spans over 40 years.
His first public service was acting as a 9-1-1 dispatcher and patrol officer, patrol supervisor, training officer and detective.
“Lynn’s positive and effective influence on the community has won him the highest regard from his associates and the citizens throughout the community,” said Clinton City Mayor Scott Burton.
Murphy said, “I’ve been fortunate enough to be blessed with some good help.
“I’ve got staff that have worked for me for 20, some of them over 30 years,” he continued.
The members of the City Council presented Murphy with a plaque, commemorating his time spent serving the public.
