ASAP to open drug treatment center

Allies for Substance Abuse Prevention, or ASAP, of Anderson County will be opening the first family drug treatment core.

It became operational July 1.

To celebrate the momentous occasion for drug abuse prevention in Anderson County, ASAP will be hosting a ribbon cutting with the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce on July 11 at 3 p.m.

The ribbon cutting will be held in the Robert Jolley Building in the Juvenile Court room.

“We are calling it the recovery and resilience program,” said Jennifer Burnette, a prevention coordinator with ASAP.

“It’s an adolescence program but it also pulls in family members, offers group and family therapy in addition to the treatment component. We are doing a larger program based resilience.”
