Dr. Tim Parrott welcomes a new year

Anderson County Director of Schools Dr. Tim Parrott welcomes back staff, students and parents when ANderson County school opened doors July 30.

“We are excited about the start of school. We are focused on our mission to ‘Develop, Challenge, and Support ‘every student every day.

“We are in the second year of our five year strategic plan and will be implementing a new ELA curriculum at all our elementary schools this year. Another first for Anderson County in our employee daycare that opened this week at Claxton Elementary School.

“The need for this new program came from our employee surveys. The program is licensed and managed thru the Head Start program.

“Clinton Middle School took on a total makeover this summer with the School Board’s approval of a College and Career Academy.

“Not only does the school look great but, we will for the first time have College and Careers activities woven into all courses.

“There are also new courses in Coding, Culinary Arts, and Early Childhood Education. The School board approved adding two more SRO’s this year and completing the installation of cameras in all our schools.

“There are other safety upgrades that have been completed this summer that will make all of our schools safer.

“The maintenance and the custodians have been working hard all summer on the schools and they look awesome.
