Crane to speak on Alzheimer’s dementia Aug. 28 in Oak Ridge

Dr. Monica Crane, a fellowship-trained geriatric medicine physician with special expertise in Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias, will discuss “Dealing with Caregiver Stress” at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at The Courtyards Senior Living, Oak Ridge and “Mixed Dementia” at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at The Courtyards Senior Living, Knoxville.

The public is invited to meet Dr. Crane—the medical director for The Courtyards—and to attend the talk at the senior living facility. The Courtyards Oak Ridge is located at 300 Briarcliff Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The Courtyards Knoxville is located at 801 East Inskip Drive, Knoxville.

On April 1, 2017 Dr. Crane became medical director for The Courtyards Senior Living, which operates assisted living and dedicated memory care facilities in Oak Ridge, Knoxville and Johnson City.

She presents informative talks on aging at The Courtyards on a regular basis.

Crane is also the medical director and founder of Genesis Neuroscience Clinic in Knoxville, which opened in April 2017.

The clinic, at 1400 Dowell Springs Blvd., provides comprehensive evaluation, treatment and clinical trial opportunities for those with cognitive impairment and neurodegenerative dementias.

Crane founded Genesis Neuroscience Clinic after serving as Associate Director and Director of Clinical Research at the Cole Neuroscience Center—now the Pat Summitt Clinic—at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She continues to teach as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at both the Graduate School of Medicine at UT-Knoxville, as well as at the UT Health Science Center in Memphis.
