Middle School Football Wrap Up
Norris 20
Jefferson 16
The Norris Middle School Senators picked up a huge win with a 20-16 come from behind win over Jefferson Middle School at Blankenship Field in Oak Ridge.
A lengthy weather delay took place in the second quarter because of lightning in the area. Jefferson led 8-6 when the delay began.
The Senators trailed for much of the game but clawed their way back into the game as the defense picked up stops when they had to have them and the offense got the crucial scores.
Norris took the decisive lead with a little more than five minutes remaining in the game when quarterback Tate Russell connected with Bryson Vowell on a short pass and Vowell went the distance untouched for the score.
An interception late in the game by Gavin Noe sealed the win for the Senators.
Individual stats were not available at press time.
The Senators (2-0) will host Clinton Middle School (3-0) in a battle of unbeaten teams on Thursday at 7 p.m.
