We must keep our veterans’ memories alive
EDITOR:
Every year my family and I visit my Uncle Raleigh’s grave at the Knoxville National Cemetery.
He was a soldier in World War II. He was killed in action (KIA) on June 4, 1944, on Biak Island.
These yearly tributes to my dad’s brother are especially important to my father.
He is 95 and was also in World War II (Veteran).
Not every one in my family comes to my uncle’s grave and I know it’s important to him.
I’d like to take this opportunity to invite anyone that would like to, to come to the Knoxville National Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Nov 11, to have a picture made to show my father that we will never forget.
