18th Annual Clinch River Antique Festival had another successful year
EDITOR:
The Anderson County Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all who attended the 18th Annual Clinch River Antiques Festival, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12 and 13, in Historic Downtown Clinton.
The morning started off cold, but the beautiful fall weather increased the number of attendees who joined us on Festival Day.
Local businesses and visiting vendors were pleased with their sales. Please join me in thanking the festival sponsors Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, Mortgage Options Lending- Elizabeth Powers, ORNL Federal Credit Union, Peoples Bank of the South, WATE-TV Channel 6 Million Dollar Investment, Y-12 Federal Credit Union, Ray Varner Ford, and RE/MAX Tri-Star Realty.
A special thanks to Clinton City Manager Roger Houck and his department heads for city services provided for the festival. A special thanks to Clinton Parks & Recreation Director Jason Brown and Clinton Police Department’s Chief Vaughn Becker and Lt. Jim Campbell.
I express my special thanks and appreciation to the Chamber Staff, Janet Hawkins, Jared Forgety, Taylor Martin and Marsha Stapleton. Their contribution was major. They spent many hours in the weeks prior to the festival problem solving, coordinating and attention to last minute details, facilitated a shuttle service, sponsors, entertainment, logistics and additional vendor space, plus they were on site Friday and Saturday.
A Festival of this magnitude requires a host of volunteers and community support.
The success of this event can be contributed to these dedicated individuals. In addition to their efforts prior to the festival, they volunteered on Friday and Saturday.
Community Support: Thank you to all the local businesses and organizations for their cooperation and support of this event. Thank you to Hoskins In The Flat for their parking lot; Clinton Baptist Association, Dunkin Donuts- Bluemont Group and Food City for the vendor’s Hospitality Suites; Gary Coleman-Fox Toyota and Jamie Stapleton for corn stalks and hay bales; The Lantern at Morning Pointe and Meadowview Senior Living for Shuttles; ASAP of Anderson for Training Beer Garden Volunteers.
A special thanks to the Downtown Merchants Association for support and promotion of the fall festival and sharing the street on Saturday with a multitude of antique/artisan vendors and to Clinton Antique Mall for sponsoring antique appraiser, Joe Rosson.
Volunteers: Our special thanks to Chamber Board Members: Chair B.J. Baxter, Chair-Elect Robin Hunley, Heather Emert, Dr. Arlene Garrison, Jason Leslie, Jeanne Mitchell and Kristin Waldschlager; Chamber Ambassadors: Diane Allred, Sabrena Cox, Pam Forgety, Jane Haney, Alicia Kriebel, Larry Lemanski, April Lively, Beth Hickman, Connie Hunley, Michael Ousley, Emily Rios, Debbie Sellers, Kim Webber; Other valuable volunteers: Naomi Asher, Sid Brewer, Annalisa Conover, Samantha Bates, Brooke Ferguson, Joe Forgety, Tammy Gann, Teresa Grayson, Dan Hawkins, Amanda Humphries, Morgan Grandy, Briehan Leslie, Michele Shell and Kathy Stansberry.
