Arowood Arena ready for action
Thanks to the generosity of the Arowood family and other area businesses, Clinton City School’s gymnasium has been remodeled and several of “The Blaze” sports teams and academic programs have received increased support.
Clinton Director of Schools Kelly Johnson thanked everyone who made the project a success.
“I particularly want to thank the Arowood family for their extraordinary leadership,” said Johnson.
“Without them, these renovations and new programs would not have been possible.”
The $65,000 project was financed by a lead gift of $25,000 from the Arowood family and donations from 40 Clinton area businesses and organizations.
Donated funds were not only used to remodel the gymnasium to accommodate the school’s swimming, cross country and basketball teams, but also to provide a Reading Club and Science Club for students.
“Education has always been a priority for our family and giving back to our community is an obligation we believe in,” said Chad Arowood spokesman for the family.
“We are happy to help make an updated arena available for the Clinton City Schools and at the same time support students in their Reading and Science Clubs.”
“Everyone associated with our Clinton Schools owe a great debt of gratitude to these folks for what they’ve done,” said Schools Athletic Director E.T. Samey.
