Anderson County High School’s Maddy Moody, a duel-sport student-athlete, has signed her National Letter of Intent to further her education and cross-country/track and field career at Lipscomb University, in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Lady Maverick, Moody was also a stand-out outside back on the pitch, as well as an elite runner. When it comes to running, she can do it all. Moody’s mile PR clocks in at 5:09.99, yet she can also run a 5000-meter cross-country trail in 18:27. This past fall, Moody qualified for the TSSAA Cross-Country Division 1 Large School 5000-meter run—she would place third, clocking in an impressive time of 18:51.53. With track season approaching quickly, expect to see Maddy Moody’s name a lot. The future Bison runner will be one of the top track and field competitors in Anderson County/Knoxville this Spring.
