Trevor Linderman makes history
CHS sophomore takes fifth at state
Clinton High School sophomore Trevor Linderman has officially marked his name into Clinton High School’s history books. Linderman, a heavyweight wrestler for the Dragons, competed at the TSSAA AAA Wrestling State Tournament last week. Linderman is officially the first wrestler in Clinton High School history to step on the podium at the TSSAA Wrestling State Tournament. The Dragons’ heavyweight finished fifth in the 285-pound class and adds a State Tournament medal to his TSSAA AAA Region 2 Title.
Linderman reached the State Tournament last year in the 220-pound class, but did not place. One year later, the sophomore earns a top-six finish in the heavyweight division. Linderman finishes the season with a ridiculous 37-3 record, and one of his loses was to the heavyweight state champion. Simply, Trevor Linderman is a 285-pound beast, and only the best heavyweights in the state can compete with him.
The fact that Linderman is competing at this high of a level as a sophomore truly shows how elite he is. Over the next two years, Linderman is only going to improve, which is scary considering the talent and skillset that he has already, as a sophomore. Over the next two years, expect Linderman to earn a shot at the TSSAA Heavyweight State Title. Below are Linderman’s match results from last week’s TSSAA State Tournament.
