Anderson County Lady Mavs track and field standout Brittany Bishop competed at the Tennessee State Indoor Championships Saturday at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
Bishop took home the girl’s pole vault title with a personal record of 13-feet (3.97 meters). Along with her title and new personal record, Bishop also broke the state of Tennessee’s high school indoor pole vault record.
Bishop is currently ranked ninth in the nation.
Bishop also competed in the girl;s 60-meter hurdles, finishing sixth with a time of 9.34.
Other Anderson County High School athletes competing Saturday were:
Molly Longmire took seventh place in the one mile run with a time of 5:17.71;
Longmire also competed in the girl’s two mile race and finished seventh with a time of 11:23.86;
Maddy Moody finished eighth in the one mile race at the state meet with a time of 5:18.66;
Moody also finsihed eighth in the two mile rac with a time of 11:27.51;
In the boy’s two mile race Kirby Logan finished seventh with a time of 9:54.84.
