Fugate to speak at Timely Topics
When Timely Topics Club meets at noon Tuesday, March 26, members will hear a talk by Sandra Fugate of the Center for English and Assimilation Services in Knoxville. It seeks to remove barriers so that people can attend classes such as on transportation and child care.
With Fugate will be Dini Kidd, chairman of the board amd marketing director, whose book, In Her Threads, a compilation of refugees’ stories, has been published.
Earlier, Fugate was program coordinator for English for speakers of Other Languages at the University of Tennessee. She is the sister-in-law of Nancy Large, a club member.
