ORUUC community church fundraiser May 17

The community is invited to attend the “Growing the Seeds of Community” fundraiser auction at the Unitarian Universalist Church (ORUUC) from 6 - 9 p.m. Friday, May 17, in the church social hall. Proceeds raised from the silent and live auctions will help to support the various ORUUC outreach ministries that serve Oak Ridge and surrounding communities.

ORUUC is located at 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike (near traffic light #2,) in Oak Ridge. The pay at the door entry is $8 per person or $15 per couple. Children are free. Light refreshments, a raffle, door prizes and childcare are included in the entry fee. Music will be provided by the Robyn James Ensemble .

Up for auction is a huge list of unique items such as a Cuban dinner for eight and various other ethnic dinners, several art pieces, pottery by local artisans, collectables, a grandfather clock, an iPhone, a brand new flat screen television, a quilt by Master Quilter Carol Mason, gourmet and themed gift baskets and services such as hauling things to the dump and yard work. New items are being added to the list daily.

Auctioneer Jason Deel from JD’s Auctions in Clinton will be on hand to lead the live Auction. Deel’s knack to engage and energize attendees adds loads of fun and fellowship to a fundraiser event.
