Clinton students win state Envirothon
Five Clinton High School students won the State Envirothon contest last week at the York 4-H Camp in Crossville. The two-day event tested the students’ knowledge in Aquatic Ecology, Soils, Forestry, Wildlife, and Sustainable Agriculture. The team won the right to compete at the state contest by winning the Cumberland Mountain District contest in late April. The team will travel to North Carolina State University in July to compete in the national contest, which draws teams from across the United States and Canada. Envirothon is the largest environmental science competition open to high school students in North America, with more than fifty thousand students competing annually.
