Bishop earns third straight title

Anderson County’s Brittany Bishop completed her quest for a three-peat last week, at the TSSAA Track and Field State Championships, in Murfreesboro.
The Samford commit cleared 13-feet to capture the state title, and it would be the best succesful vault out of all TSSAA divisions.
Bishop also competed in the 100-meter hurdles, where she placed second with a time of 15 seconds flat.
Earlier this year, Bishop posted a 14.59 in the 100-meter hurdles, which was the fastest time in the state of Tennessee.
Bishop’s teammate, Mollie Longmire, competed in the 1600-meter run.
The Lipscomb commit finished eighth, with a time of 5:15.22.
Earlier this year, Longmire set the record for the state of Tennessee in the 2K Steeple, with a time of 7:33.80.
Through Bishop and Longmire, Anderson County earned 19 points, and finished 19th overall as a team out of 57 Division One Large School teams.
Both student-athletes finish their Anderson County careers and head to their respective universities with TSSAA medals, and state records.
