Clinton Police Chief Vaughn Becker has rolled out new stickers on his precinct’s patrol cars. “They mirror the patches we wear on our uniforms,” he said. “I’ve seen it on other cars, and it’s a way for us to show that we’re proud to be American.” The flag stickers are placed on both sides of the cars, and one appears to be backwards. “We wear our uniform patch the same way,” Vaughn explained. “If you wear it the other way, it looks like the flag is in retreat.” The U.S. military wears the flag patches the same way.
