Dragons find success at 7 on 7 tourney

The Clinton Dragons played in the seven-on-seven tournament last week at Tennessee Tech University, going five wins against three losses and one tie.

Head Coach Randy McKamey said he was just glad that no one was injured, since seven-on-seven is played without pads. He stated this year’s team shows real promise.

“This is gonna be a fun year,” said McKamey

Assistant Coach Jason Hamock agreed, saying the team looks really good for the upcoming year and that the team performed really well in the tournament.

“They got tired and gassed near the end, but they played good. We don’t go for the wins and losses [at the tournament], but just to get the defense ready for the regular season,” said Hamock.

Clinton kicks the season off on Aug. 23 facing cross county rival Anderson County at home.

Kick off is at 7:30 p.m.
