Nelson/Johnson family reunion set for July 20
Mark your calendar now, so you don’t miss the family reunion.
The annual reunion for the descendants of Jave and Ellen Evans Nelson and John and Eliza Hensley Johnson will be Saturday July 20, at the Farmers Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Doors will open at 11 a.m., and potluck lunch will be around noon.
Please bring any old family photos or other memorabilia you wish to share.
Jave Marion Nelson and Ellen Evans married in Anderson County in 1877. Their children included David, Henry, Catherine, Frank, Tom, Cynthia, Page, Taylor, Sam and Clara.
John Johnson was born in Rockbridge County, Va. He married Eliza Hensley in Knox County in 1848, and later moved to Anderson County. Their children included Jerome, George, Napoleon, John, Thomas, Mary, William, Martha, Demarcus, Samintha and Richard.
All friends and family are welcome. Those of you who descend from the Rev. John Johnson might like to hear about your female ancestor who served three years in the army during the Revolutionary War. Her name was Barbara Susong.
