Clinton takes out Oak Ridge

Clinton beat Oak Ridge during their game on Saturday, Aug. 24, finishing the game with a remarkable lead of 14-1.

From the very beginning, it was clear Oak Ridge was outmatched, with Clinton scoring six runs in the first inning and five in the second, bringing the score to 11-0 before the end of the second inning.

Oak Ridge’s pitcher ended the game with a WHIP (walks plus hits per inning pitched) of 3.38, while Clinton’s Allyson Bender ended with a final WHIP of 1.50. Clinton’s other pitcher, McKenna Gavin, ended the day with a phenomenal WHIP of 0.00. Bender finished the game with five strikeouts (almost two inning’s worth) while Gavin finished the game with two. Between them, they were one strikeout short of having three inning’s worth of outs.
